Click, fotógrafo de modelos (1970)
Mauricios Garces at his funniest
Mauricio is a photographer that works for a very important advertisement company.
It all starts with Mauricio's work being criticized by the company, to which Mauricio jumps into the discussion and explains to the company that his idea was misinterpreted, and quits.
Mauricio bent on revenge, and promises to be enemy number one of his former employers, sets off and works so hard photographing so many models, that he develops a click that when he blinks his eyes, he can see anybody in their underwear.
A lot of Mauricio charm, famous quotes and pranks in this movie, very entertaining and beautiful women for that time.
Very recommendable.
El matrimonio es como el demonio (1969)
Old but a very fun & entertaining movie
I saw this movie when I was very young and found it funny (because of Mauricio Garces), and did not understand too much about the issues being handled in the movie. This movie is about a couple which main characters are Raul Alvarez (portrayed by Mauricia Garces) and Hilda Cervantes (portrayed by Elsa Aguirre) which is holding a love affair for several years and are very passionate about each other, even though a lot of years have passed by. But, they bump into the situation where they get married by accident in a bet when they are drunk. And then, the problems start to rise due to Raul Alvarez bachelor life. Other situations with the different characters develop, which are also very funny. I liked this movie so much, that when I saw it on sale on DVD, I immediately6 bought it, I watch know and then, and I don't get bored with it.
If you get the opportunity to watch it, do so, you will not regret it. It is a nice movie to watch during a relaxing weekend at home.
24 horas de placer (1969)
Irony of marriage
The title of the movie is from the title of a novel which is written by Mauricio.
This movie is about two married couples who are looking for excitement in their marriages.
Catalina, portrayed by Silvia Pinal, and Ruben, portrayed by Joaquin Cordero, are a couple which have been married for about five years, have no spice in their marriage. Ruben, cheats on her, hanging out with his friends which take him to parties with girls, comes home late to his wife Catalina. Catalina wants sex, but he's to tired and Catalina gets frustrated.
One night when Ruben comes in late, Catalina waits for him, she wants sex, he doesn't, so Catalina gets mad. She storms out of the bedroom and watches television. At that time, she sees in a program in which Mauricio, portrayed by Mauricio Garces, is advertising his novel, and announces that he will be autographing copies of his novel at a certain bookstore. By the way, Mauricio and Catalina are old flames. Mauricio has a wife Adriana, portrayed by Ofelia Montesco, who does not approve of her husband's novel because she is in a women's catholic organization. Mauricio wants sex, she doesn't.
Catalina looks for Mauricio, and they start following each other.
The first time I saw this movie, I was 12 years old, and didn't know much about life, love and marriage (who does at this age, right?). Later on, I saw it again, and understood why married couples cheat. Basically I saw it because of Mauricio Garces. I enjoy his movies very much.
If you want some good, clean, classic humor, I sure recommend this movie.
Enjoy.
