Ted (2012)
7/10
Funniest comedy in years
6 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Maybe its just because i like Family Guy but I found Ted to be this years funniest film and one of the best comedy's over the past couple of years.

The plot for Ted is nothing original when in the cinema I felt like I had seen it before and the ending was no real surprise. However its Teds chemistry with the other characters as well as the consistent laughs that make this film worth while.

Both Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis are fantastic in their respective roles especially Wahlberg, his interaction with the CGI Ted is fantastic you completely believe Ted's existence.

The laughs however were what made this film so great, it seems with comedy these days their humor is either inconsistent and unoriginal. Ted's humor has definitively be seen in MacFarlane's Family Guy but in a major film like this it comes off as fresh. Sadly many of the laughs could have been better if I hadn't already seen them in the trailer. However don't get me wrong there's plenty more in the film. It also should be mentioned that for those uncertain about seeing this film that its humor doesn't appeal to everyone, Perhaps watch an episode of Family Guy on fox and see if you like it before buying a ticket for this film.

Ted manages to be both funny and charming becoming a real crowed pleaser.

Great, but... something always seems missing.
11 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I think I've watched this film at least over 5 times, and every time I always find something's missing.

While the action is incredible, the story interesting, and the characters fascinating, there's something missing.

The first thing is batman. i don't think Christian Bale is the worst Batman, but he doesn't seem on par with the rest of the movie. It's just hard to take him seriously.

The second reason is... How the hell is this batman. While the Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker is great. The film lacks the mood set out by the Tim Burton one 19 years ago. I can never take it seriously. It just feels like a secret agent in a bat suit. Nolan needed to have a strong Gothic mood in this film. One which he was able to achieve in Batman begins, but not here.

Bottom line The Dark Knight is a great story with brilliant acting (for the most part) But it fails to capture what made batman, batman which has a huge impact on the film. While Batman begins was probably more flawed. It was simpler and had a great Gothic mood to it which made it flow nicely. But I find this one just to go a little too far.

Thrilling and exciting but no masterpiece.

A film of 2 halves
5 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Tomorrow never dies is a follow up to one of my favourite bond films which is Golden-eye. The film starts terrific, we are given and explosive opening action sequence, followed by some scenes setting up the plot and then BANG. We are given some great action scenes resembling which looks to set up the perfect bond film. The car chase scene with is remote controlled BMW was amazing and arguably the best car chase in bond history.

However then the film just fall flat. Unfortunately Elliot Carver isn't a very interesting Bond villain and the action, while good, isn't exciting anymore because its all too similar to the ones before.

Overall Tomorrow Never Dies is a good Bond film (for the first half) but then falls flat.

My final rating 6.5/10

Boring, dull, WORST bond film ever!
4 November 2011
Coming into this film I didn't really know what to expect. Tomorrow never dies wasn't as good as goldeneye and this film was regarded by critics as one of the worst bond movies. However after reading some user reviews they said it was one of the best of recent times, so I thought I might like this film.

The first 30 minutes were great. The boat chase scene was incredibly entertaining and it set up what looked to be a great film however then it just fell away. The film immediately slows down. And while this might set up the plot, when an action scene does come it's not at all entertaining. That skiing scene I just watched, didn't feel anything or cared. That goes the same for most of the characters in this film including bond himself. It's all so dull and boring and in the end doesn't leave you Hungry for more. Like other bond films.

Over all The world's not enough does allot right, but it's all over shadowed by a how boring it is.

Great popcorn bond film!
20 July 2011
This (the 20th and final bond before the latest reboots casino royale and quantum of solace) is a great entertaining bond flick which is what it should be despite what many say. Overall the film isn't a masterpiece but definitely a decent bond film.

The film is incredibly entertaining, the special effects and over use of CGI make the film flawed but besides that the film is great. probably the second best of the Brosnan bonds behind Golden eye in my opinion.

Overall if you like bond and want an entertaining film this is one of the best bonds of recent times
