Everybody Loves Raymond: Super Bowl (2001)
Ray got it right the 1st time.
This episode, thanks to Debra, gives wives a bad name. Debra is completely selfish and never should have been invited on this company paid trip if she couldn't follow the plan like the other wives. They were excited just for the free weekend of shopping and getting away from it all Not Diva Debra. After getting invited, due to Rays guilt, she then goes on to prove why he was right to not have asked her in the first place.
That Forsyte Woman (1949)
Errol Flynn was too good for her
This movie celebrates Greer Garson's character to the point of absurdity. Errol Flynn, who played her husband was wonderful to her in every way and she wanted Robert Young's character. I enjoyed the costumes and the time period, but the storyline puts Greer Garson in a very bad light, and I have absolutely no sympathy for her at the end, as I'm sure was the intent. Instead my sympathy was only for Errol Flynn and Janet Leigh's charcters who were irreparably harmed due to Garson's inabilty to practice some self-control.
The Andy Griffith Show: Irresistible Andy (1960)
Storyline Goof
Andy asks Ellie to go to a PICNIC on Saturday. She accepts. He goes home, tells Aunt Bee, and suddenly the picnic is now a DANCE! How did the picnic turn into a dance almost in mid-sentence? I'm surprised no one caught this. But it's still a nice episode. Ellie really is too beautiful for Mayberry.
Paul Robeson...The Tallest Tree in Our Forest (1977)
Why Am I the first to Review?
This phenomenal story of the life of this larger than life icon was made in 1977. It is now September 2021 and I am the first to review it? The footage must have been in hiding most of the time. There is so much in this documentary to prove that this man was much more than that heavenly, thunderous voice we all know from "Showboat." An ultimate intellectual, elite scholar, superb athlete, world renowned actor, vocal activist, civil rights leader, loving husband and more...Paul Robeson...a great man we all should know!
The Women (1939)
One of the funniest dramatic comedies ever!
Rosiland Russell is hilarious! This movie is one of the best dramedy classics of all time! The fashion show scene in color was breathtaking and before its time. I don't care what anyone says, this is one true depiction of life and women's relationships in particular. The movie also gives us a look into the upper class's inner circle, while allowing us to laugh at some of the antics the same time!
Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Appointment at Eleven (1959)
Without a doubt
This is without a doubt the most poorly written, acted and directed Alfred Hitchock episode I've ever seen. Regardless of some hidden purpose some may think they had for having the most annoying main charcter ever, which I don't believe is so, it doesn't take away from the fact that watching it just once is more than enough.
The Andy Griffith Show: Opie's Girlfriend (1966)
Talk about twisting the truth
I am a woman, and totally agree with Richard Fuller's review. First of all, anyone who watches the whole scene at the football game see's Helen's niece, who's quite larger than Opie, interfere with his football pass. When he calls it, she argues with him and shoves him with quite a bit of force, as she was a very strong girl. He shoves her back, barely moving her. Towering over him and threatening him in front of his friends she says, "You hit me!", as if shocked that a boy actually challenged her right to physically attack and experience nothing in return. Opie does shove her back, as his friends are watching, and she gives him a black eye. He didn't knock her out, which he could have done after she punched him. He refuses to hit her again because she's a girl, and she is triumphant in that. She tells some convoluted story to her Aunt Helen who repeats it to Andy-- that Opie started the fight, shoved her first, and maybe he wouldn't have if she wasn't better at everything than him. Duh...he shoved her back, because she shoved him like a dude--twice.
Summer of '42 (1971)
He's Fifteen For Goodness Sake
Funny how given the right musical score, narration, setting and actors...an adult having sex with a child is considered an 'awakening by some. Yes, I liked the movie years ago, but I know better now. Since the 70's, we better monitor such "splendor". The problem is that adults in the same situation can envision themselves in some kind of "Summer of 42", but all it is without the musical score and great feeling...is criminal activity.

We Who Are Young (1940)
Sweet Movie
If you don't like classics in general and are not sentimental, then don't watch. However, I think this movies' appeal is to those that enjoy watching a simple little sentimental 40's period movie without references to gangsters, WWII, and want to be a bit soapy. Turner and Shelton were both very young and good looking. Shelton's performance was good for that particular part- I don't think there was anything wrong with it. It is unfair to compare him to Turner, since she went on to become one of Hollywood's greatest actors/actresses. The predicament Shelton's character was in ...would make many a man result to tears and theatrics, even today.
