I have to admit, I have a thing for Christopher Nolan, so I was already biased before seeing it. I absolutely adore the Dark Knight, The Prestige and Memento, some of my all time favourite films, but I have been let down by films I have desperately wanted to see before, most recently Avatar. So I pinned my hopes on Inception not falling in that category of let downs.
I was not disappointed! The concept is a bit weird, but strangely it makes sense and I understood it perfectly and amazingly, the "job" that they have to do is put on the back burner as Leonardo Di Caprio yet again astounds me with his strong and emotional role. Actually, his character in many ways is similar to that of Teddy Daniels, who he plays in Shutter Island in that his life is destroyed by something to do with his wife. I shall say no more.
The surrounding characters are strong and at times made me laugh, but in my opinion, Di Caprio is magnificent, yet again! All I have to say is, WHAT AN ENDING! No twists like in the Prestige, but a brilliant cliffhanger that certainly drew gasps from me and resulted in me shouting out "NO! DROP! Don't KEEP SPINNING!".
The special effects were amazing. No 3D rubbish, just brilliant cinematography in my opinion, although I wasn't too sure about all the super slow motion action shots.
But still, Wow! Love it, and already plan to see it again tomorrow!
