Salt (2010)
9/10
Angelina Jolie + Russian Spies = Amazing Movie!
24 July 2010
I heard that Tom Cruise was originally suppose to be Salt in this movie and I am sure glad he wasn't. We don't need another Tom Cruise Mission Impossible like movie, the change in gender was a perfect move. Angelina as Salt is perfect! She is the only female that could have pulled this off. I also like the idea of a female action lead, as we don't see it that often.

Is it over the top? Yes. Is it somewhat unrealistic? Yes. But if you want FANTASTIC action scenes and crazy stunts- stunts that you have never seen before, you won't be disappointed. The plot is not too complicated but the number of twists and turns throughout will keep you satisfied.

It is fast-paced and fun. Definitely worth seeing, especially if you are looking for an action packed flick, or you are an Angelina fan. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely see it again when it comes out on video.

Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017)
6/10
Somewhat addicting
22 July 2010
Pretty Little Liars is one of those shows that is not fantastic but drags you in and won't let you go until you find out what's next. There is enough mystery in the identity of A to keep you watching for more clues.

It keeps you guessing. The show has a touch of Gossip Girl, with the mystery texts and the high class rich kids who can buy their way out of anything. It's got a lot of clichés and some bad drama but it's worth a shot.

It is definitely not the best show out there, but it has it's moments. If you are having some withdrawls from your favourite dramas this summer, this may just satisfy you until September.

Glee (2009–2015)

I'm a Gleek now...
22 July 2010
When I first heard about this show, I brushed it off. I didn't really have any interest in musical type shows and not enough time to squeeze in another show. The season finale was on at a family gathering and I couldn't help but watch. To my surprise I absolutely loved the music and although I didn't really know what was going on, I really enjoyed it.

So, I started at the beginning and watched the entire season. The characters are people we can relate to. It is quite a different perspective of high school then most shows on television these days. The music is amazing and the cast is incredibly talented. Mr. Shu and Sue's bantering is quite entertaining. Jane Lynch plays the perfect villain, and she has this ability to say the most ridiculous things and get away with it.

It is one of those shows that will make you laugh and have fun. The drama that's there is matched with humour. The show incorporates modern music for the younger generation and older music for those of us who are way past our high school days. This is a great show to just let go and have a good time. I am glad I got sucked in, I'm definitely a Gleek now.

Dexter (2006–2013)
10/10
Best show out there!
22 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this show and was immediately intrigued by Dexter. He is different and damaged. He truly believes he is not human, and no he not some mythical creature. He is broken, he can not feel emotions because of a traumatizing childhood. I couldn't stop watching because I was so fascinated by his inner thoughts, his hilarious banter with himself on how to "behave" like a human. Michael C. Hall is a genius. He plays this character very well. Jennifer Carpenter is another fantastic actress, she really shines in the fourth season but her real down-to-earth, potty mouthed portrayal of Deb is hilarious and real.

The first season we learn about Dexter, how he thinks and what he does. He is a blood splatter expert, but he has an unusual hobby. He kills serial killers. He vows not to kill any innocent human being and it is this and his charm that makes him lovable. The second season proves to be better, more intense and more of Dexter trying to lead a normal life while avoiding suspicion.

The third season was good, but the best season thus far is the Fourth season. John Lithgow guest stars alongside Dexter and Dexter becomes fascinated with this man because he is just like him, living a double life, and yet he has the ability to lead a normal life. The entire season is filled with intensity and depth and the storyline gets more complicated when Dexter becomes a father and a husband for the first time.

The writing and directing of Dexter are above any other show out there, it is smart, fun and they somehow get you to love and feel for this person who is morally corrupt. I never thought I would actually feel sorry for a serial killer. But is he a serial killer, or just someone trying to clean the streets of bad people? You decide!

The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017)
10/10
Absolutely Addicting!
22 July 2010
I started watching this show and immediately became hooked. The season started off alittle cheesy but got better with each episode. Every episode left me wanting more. I gave this show a shot because I am a Twilight fan, but soon realized that they are completely different and in fact, I enjoy TVD much more. I enjoy the chemistry between Nina and Paul. They do a fantastic job of portraying Stefan and Elena. And then there is Ian. He is a great actor, he brings Damon to life- (no pun intended)- with his charming good looks, his evil ways and his sense of humour. He gets better and better as the season progresses. He does a great job of switching between the evil brother who uses humans and throws them away, to the charming, sensitive guy who would do anything for Elena and her family. It is not just another teen love story, it is packed with action, werewolves, vampire battles, and witches. Speaking of witches- Bonnie's character is developing extremely well, I can't wait to see more. The show is intriguing, addicting and fun.
