Gangs of London (2020)
Best TV series of 2020 after BCS and Money Heist
Right from the first scene, this show will catch the audience attention and keep them glued to their seats until last episode. Superb acting by a cast not well known to audience but includes some known faces from other hit series like lady stark from GOT .. fight sequences are breath taking and shooting action scenes specially last 15 minutes of episode 5 is brilliant. Expecting a lot more from season 2!
Black Swan (2010)
A masterpiece and an Oscar-Nominee Role
I was much anticipating this one from Darren Aronofsky, and when this came and hit the big screen, wow, the movie is a master-piece. The movie revolves around Nina (Natalie Portman, who has performed a perfect role, as she says in the end, "I did Perfect!"), Nina is a ballerina in NY ballet company and she is trying her level best to achieve the perfection in becoming Black Swan. She possess the capability to perform White Swan in the new ballet directed by Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), but her dark-twin the Black Swan is not coming out. This movie is a special treat for Perfectionists, who live their lives in achieving perfection in whatever field they are, yes, and they are serious about their work, in fact mad about it. The supporting cast Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis and Barbara Hershey (Nina's Mother) has performed well to groom the main character, but i still think Cassel did not give his level-best in this one (like he performed in Eastern Promises, Brotherhood of the Wolf, etc). But you must watch this one to see Oscar-Nominee performance by Natalie Portman. Chao!
Buried (2010)
Tense
Watched it yesterday on my laptop, the movie is one of the tense and stressful movie in my experience. Ryan Reynolds has performed well and is improving movie-by-movie, but this one is a treat with major amount of tension created inside a coffin box. The movie starts with-in the coffin, Ryan wakes up and finds himself inside with few options like a cell phone (blackberry), lighter and few flash lights. Rest of the story remains in coffin through-out till the end. The story also reveals the true nature of organizations and governments during the process. It is a must-see for fans who like reality and true-endings, not the usual happy endings we see in most movies.
Animal Kingdom (2010)
Brilliantly directed and acted
I was awaiting long for this one to be released on DVD and just saw it yesterday. The impact and atmosphere of the movie throughout was amazing. You will see one of the non-comparable strong performances from the Mother (Jacki Weaver), Sgt. Leckie (Guy Pearce) and the boy J (James Frecheville), well supported by Uncle Pope and others. This is an intense family drama, certainly the best to-date from Australian Cinema. Jacki weaver is certainly impressive as mother, who sticks around her boys and want to take care of them in all events, but eventually resulting in increasing the pain for whole family. After watching movies like "The Interview" and "Animal Kingdom" i am certainly becoming a big fan of Australian Cinema.
The Interview (1998)
Two thumbs up for Hugo and Tony
This is a must-watch Aussie thriller! Hugo Weaving and Tony Martin both have delivered an extraordinary screen performances... The story revolves around an official police interview, Tony Martin (Det St John Steele) is inquiring Hugo Weaving (Fleming) who is an out-of-job-and-broke individual and has lost everything in life including his wife and home! What is the interview about, why is Fleming picked from his home disgracefully by police and put into interview, all has to be seen and known. "The interview" will keep you stick to the chair and unveil the unsaid truths and nature of human beings. A MUST SEE!
Cinderella Man (2005)
A great boxing movie, with superb performances from Russell Crowe and Paul Giamatti
Russell Crowe, being one of my favorites (Since 'A Beautiful Mind'), this one had to be a must watch! Director Ron Howard join forces with Russell Crowe (an Oscar-Winning combination) and delivers a superb and perfect boxing movie in the era of great depression. This movie is supported by excellent cast performances from Rene'e and Paul Giamatti. Paul is a must see; has delivered some really superb scenes in this movie. This movie revolves around 'Jim Braddock', who was an inspiration in 30's when he had a come-back in boxing and became a champion, supporting his family in the era of depression at the same time. A MUST SEE for Ron Howard and Russell Crowe fans!
