An epic masterpiece that should be a classic.

Now I did not have the good fortune of reading Ken Follet's book, but when I saw the promos and previews for this, I know I wanted to watch it. The characters are so well done, every one of them has a story element to bring to play and not one of them is poorly written. Everything that happened, and the way it happened, made it believe that it really happened. There was not a single dull moment in the entire miniseries. I never knew that building a church could be the basis for such a gripping storyline riddled with events that never stopped entertaining me. It has a little bit for everyone. For those who enjoy romance, there are several love triangles and paradoxes, for those who enjoy action, there are plenty of bloody sword-wielding fight scenes, there are laughs, there are cries, its not just a miniseries, but an experience; a life. Its absolutely wonderful and I will hope to see it amongst television classics someday.

Amazing film.

Warning: Spoilers
I loved Zach Braff in Scrubs, as it is probably my favorite television series, so to see him play a serious, mildly depressed, but numb kind of a guy was strange. In the first 20 minutes or so I didn't know what to think of it. The drugs, the funeral, it was kind of weird and sad, but when Natalie Portman came in, everything seemed to brighten. Zach Braff created a very good script; nothing was cliché, it was all rather original. Some of the shots weren't great, but in the last 45 minutes everything was shot perfectly. The soundtrack was great, it was just a really well put together film, and Zach Braff has earned my respect in a whole new level. Now that Scrubs is finished, I'm looking forward to seeing some new stuff from him. He really is a brilliant, talented man.

Vampires Suck (2010)

Has potential, but fell through

Vampires Suck! is the latest film from those who brought you the Scary Movie series. That being said, I already had fairly low expectations. If you absolutely despise Twilight, like I do, you will probably find this laughable, like I did. In the movie by itself, there were a few jokes that gave chuckles, but very few. Now as a spoof of Twilight, this did quite well. I have had the painful memories of having to actually watch those "films," and of the events that happen in the first two, Vampires Suck went over nearly all of them and exposed the ridiculousness of them. This is really the only redeeming factor that Vampires Suck! has. All in all, give it a try if you hate Twilight, otherwise, stay far away. Don't even rent it.
