Behind the Red Door (2003)
An okay film
I thought this movie was somewhat depressing. The storyline is one that will touch your heart, but it wasn't an attention grabber. It has a small cast and the scenes mainly only take place between Kiefer and Kyra's characters. The relationship they have as brother and sister makes it enough worth watching, but i don't think the movie would satisfy many people. I do applaud the cast for their wonderful performances though.
Life or Something Like It (2002)
Give the movie a try
I will admit that the only reason i rented this movie was to see Stockard Channing in it, but unfortunately she had a very small part. She did a great job with her small scene of course. Overall though the movie was pretty good. The plot was interesting and it kept you wondering or rather hooked to what was going to happen next. I'm not a huge fan of Angelina Jolie, but i do think she did a good job with her character. I would recommend this movie.
The Truth About Jane (2000)
Fully recommend
If you enjoy movies about homosexuality than you should watch this. It deals with a teenager coming to terms with her sexuality which makes it more interesting and made you want to watch it. I enjoyed watching the relationship between mother and daughter and how they both dealt with the situation. Ellen Muth was exceptionally great. Stockard Channing did a great job as well and i really enjoyed her in this role.
A Girl Thing (2001)
Definitely a girl movie!
Definitely a girl movie! It dealt with issues that would interest women. So being a girl i liked it very much. I enjoyed the second and fourth hour the most. It takes you through four very different situations from relationships to family to craziness. You wouldn't have to watch all four hours at the same time because they don't really relate to each other or rather they don't depend on each other. Watching it all at the same time could possibly tire you some. The cast was great and it was such an all-star cast at that. Allison Janney, Camryn Manheim, and Stockard Channing do an amazing job along with the others.
Where the Heart Is (2000)
I adore this movie!!
Awww..I adore this movie! I fell in love with the characters and story. Novalee goes through so much and she's so innocent that you can't help but love her and want to go on this journey with her. The movie is funny, sad, and just plain inspiring. All the characters will capture your attention in some way and you will want to watch it over and over again. Along with a fabulous story you have great music and a great cast. Natalie Portman, Ashley Judd, and Stockard Channing give a knock-out performance. Ashley's character is the greatest best friend and Stockard's character is the most lovable and caring person. I would recommend this movie to anyone of any age.
