Revelation Road: The Beginning of the End (2013)
If you are not a Christian then this movie is not worth watching
A family man who is on a business trip gets mixed up with a vicious biker gang along the way. He later on helps a store clerk fight off members of the biker gang who are trying to rob his store. The store clerk is a religious man who tries to help the family man come to terms with his past by accepting Jesus into his life and so on. At the same time during this whole movie strange things are happening. There occurs power outs, quaking and shaking of the ground every so often during the movie. If you ask me, its got a psychological subliminal lure to it in an attempt to try to convert people to Christianity. Its got this whole rapture deal too though, but with very good and imaginative effects at the end. Besides the Christian brain-washy stuff, I would overall say that the acting and effects were good. Its got enough action to keep you still watching the movie however religious it may seem from time to time.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Lots of cool scenes and effects, unique vehicles and stunts.
Positive: This reel has loads of effects and cool vehicles and because of that it is unique compared to the previous Batman movies. The action scenes are just awesome and unique too with unusual tricks and stunts. Huge plus on that point. Negative: Sadly the movie has too many slow scenes where there is just talking going on and that for a long time at a time. This really takes away the suspense and excitement from the whole thing. So when things start picking up again the action scenes don't impress as much as they could have. It's kind of like "yay, finally!" Several times I had to fast forward towards the end of those long conversations but, just enough so that I can get the gist of what its about.
Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)
Poor directing. A disappointment.
I almost walked out from this one. It was almost a B movie. The effects were like the only good parts of the movie. The previous Resident Evil movies were a lot better than this one. I frankly found this one to be quite disappointing. Too many scenes with blazing guns. The actors lines were often dry and amateur sounding. I almost feel sorry for the actors who probably may have thought that this one was not like the previous movies. There were hardly any zombie scenes either in this one. I could never watch this one again. I supposed this movie is more for like younger teens and video game addicts. Its really just a shooter. This one is not worth watching at the cinema. Wait for the DVD version if you wanna see it instead.
Supernatural Activity (2012)
A movie that could have been so much better
The story line is very original as well as the acting. I don't really know how to put it in any other statement that would be passable. Even if this is a spoof it could have been done a lot more better. With more thought, planning and patience perhaps this would have delivered a better punch. I question though how movies such as this one can be released. I am sure that it is not a matter of budget seeing that a lot of movies with extremely low budgets can pull off something that is passable. With some extra patience and really going through all the details of the script would make a huge difference not to mention the impression it will have on the viewers. If some scenes do not feel right then they should be re-shot. In a nutshell this movie just wasn't really viewable.
The 6th Extinction (2012)
Just another one of those low budget movies
The movie is not as good as the cover may lead you to believe. Amateur camera work along with some amateur acting is all that this movie had to deliver. The story line is what it is. I suppose that these types of movies are released to the public so that perhaps the actors and directors may get discovered. The movie could have been a lot more better had the directors given it more time and thought. Well, I guess the bottom line in the a fore stated is that people have to start somewhere. If the camera crew or the actual camera man would do a better job then it wouldn't make the acting seem amateur. I was forced to skim thru the movie in about 5 minutes because it just wasn't really delivering.
The Watermen (2012)
Good movie for fans of slash and gore.
A group of young people sail out on the ocean sea to enjoy themselves. They are later faced with a problem on-board. A crab-boat answers their call for help, but their assumed rescuers have no real intention of rescuing them, other than to use them as crab bait.
This was a movie with a lot of suspenseful scenes. If you are a fan of slasher movies, than this is it. This movie may have you reminiscing about similar movies such as "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER" and "WRONG TURN". Good slash scenes. The gore and splatter, slicing and dicing effects are very vivid and well done for this kind of movie genre.
