how can a filmmaker not get the selling point of his own movies?

Pretty much everything I have to say is already out there in different reviews, but I'm going to say it anyway. The acting is bad, the dialogue atrocious and the storyline confusing. This I wouldn't care for, if they hadn't spent so much bloody time on it. I expected to see Tony Jaa kick ass, but as many of you pointed out, there's almost none of that as well. Especially the final fight is very disappointing and if you've watched the previous Tony Jaa movies you know all his moves by now. While I appreciate the effort to make a "real" film instead of an action flick, it was done horribly as the cinematics are awful: numerous completely pointless close-ups and weak special effects make it look like a college project at times. Special mention goes to the Comic relief character; never have worse humorous attempts been put to film.

I went to IMDb after watching this movie in order to see it being torn apart and was honestly surprised by the 6,7 score and decent reviews. I registered to IMDb for the sole purpose of communicating how bad this movie is. I watched this film with a bunch of friends and we all agreed on this being one of the most stereotypical movies ever produced. Every scene, every piece of dialogue and every so called "twist" reeks of something you've seen before: The "old friend" turning into the bad guy, a scientific research facility cooperating with the government and secretly producing nuclear weapons, the informant being killed off, right after telling the protagonist everything she knows... We were more than once able to successfully predict, what was going to happen in the next scene and considering this movie is supposed to be a "crime thriller" and as such ought to be carried by suspense, thats a poor job done by the writers. In a nutshell: the acting is decent but story and/or twists are ridiculous and predictable, action is almost nonexistent and the characters are unlikeable and one-dimensional. Do not watch this movie, this is not even amusing in it's awfulness, it is plain bad.
