Ernest Scared Stupid (1991)
Another Successful Ernest Film
When I first started watching this movie, I thought the series had finally run it's coarse. After the first ten minutes, I found myself laughing and enjoying this fourth Ernest flick. Even though this one is aimed more at a younger age group than the others, at nineteen, I found much to enjoy. Ernest releases a troll that has been inside a tree for years. It's objective, to turn children into little wooden dolls to give him his power to capture children all over the world. Sounds silly doesn't it? However, the story holds together and another powerful performance by Jim Varney makes this another successful Ernest film.

Ernest Goes to Jail (1990)
Fun to Watch
You would think after two installments this series would be worn out. Somehow though Jim Varney and entertaining story lines makes this series continue to be successful and fun to watch. This time Bank Janitor Ernest goes to jail, swapping places with a look a like bank robber on death row named Nash. He must break out and stop Nash from robbing the bank he works at. Varney does a terrific job with the Nash character. I am waiting for this series to hit rock bottom, it sure hasn't happened yet.

Ernest Saves Christmas (1988)
Fun, delightful, Christmas Movie
If you wasn't to thrilled with Ernest Goes to Camp, write it off and give this one a shot. A good story involving Ernest helping Santa Clause find a replacement before Christmas Eve is fun, and delightful. Jim Varney again does a terrific job playing the dimwitted goofball. Entertaining from start to finish, this is the best of the Ernest series.

Ernest Goes to Camp (1987)
Give it a try...
Ernest goes to camp was released in 1987 to not so good reviews. That didn't stop people from going to the theater. The film brought in nearly 25 million domestically. That's pretty good considering the film cost only 3 million to make. This movie might not be award winning, but if truly watched, you'll find that Ernest P. Worrell isn't as annoying after all. He can be funny at times. The story isn't all that bad for being written by unknowns. It involves Ernest, a goofball counselor who must save his camp from being destroyed by miners with the help of some juvenile kids. It's more interesting than it sounds. Give it a try, you'll know in the first 15 minutes whether it's your kind of movie or not.
