Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Season 8, Episode 3

Really enjoyed it
30 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand all the bad reviews here. I think people really do invest way to much in entertainment.

I do agree that the episode was very dark, but it was night, so it's to be expected really. I really enjoyed the build up to the battle and watching the 'making of' episode helped to explain that they did have a plan, but after the dothraki were killed, Daenary's took flight sooner than planned.

However, I was on the edge of my seat for the whole episode and found it to be a rollercoaster of emotions watching the battle unfurl. I was surprised to see some of my favourite characters survive, but the deaths they did have were handled brilliantly, Lilliana Mormont's death was amazing.

I also don't understand why everyone was so upset the it was Arya that killed the Night King. I (like everybody else) expected it to be Jon, but thinking about it that's just ANOTHER sword fight. I think the way it was done was very creatively; while the audience is yelling at Jon to get to Bran, Arya has snuck in and finished the job, in a shocking twist. And it makes.perfect sense, if you take in to account everything she has trained for and how it was set up by other characters. I was shocked when it happened but realises it really did make sense.

Yes, the episode wasn't perfect but it paid off for me and there is more to come. Although, after that Cerci doesn't seem so terrifying now.

A good little Ghost Story
24 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This film was definitely different than what I was expecting an went back to the old school way of scaring the audience. I was very impressed by their use of music and the way atmosphere was created. Yes, this did move slower than some of the modern films but for me it was able to build terror so much more by using your own imagination.

Daniel Radcliffe was actually OK. I was worried, since the last time I saw him was in Harry Potter, but he did manage to pull the role off.

The climax was very terrifying, as I was hoping and did actually make you think everything would be OK. The final scene was very slow but it concluded the film nicely, but did leave you not really knowing how to feel.

The only bad thing I can say is, at one point in the film, every opportunity there was for a scare, the film makers took full advantage of. This was way to much and really didn't work because eventually you become desensitised to it and it becomes boring. The idea was there, but it was major overkill.

All in all, it was a scary film, especially if you like the older way of building tension, i.e no CGI every 5 seconds and slow moving to an exciting climax where you feel like hiding behind your settee!

Charmed (1998–2006)
9/10
Amazing....

Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love this show. I have been hooked since I spent time watching the 4th season a long time ago now, but I was highly impressed. The story lines are always fresh and exciting, you get action, romance, and drama at the same time. The costumes are very natural and suited to each character, even when they turn in to something!

Each episode has an individual enemy to face and you can watch one episode, and enjoy it, with out getting lost or not know what is going on.

The returning actors are brilliant, Barbas, Cole, Wyatt and Chris and,if you know the past (which they subtly remind you of) when they return you become even more excited to see what will happen. This was one thing I found a little frustrating, there wasn't really anything for the fans because if one of these character would show up, they give a line of dialogue as to who they are.....I suppose it was lucky when Paige arrived because they had an excuse to explain the situation. I would much rather have a few 'previously on Charmed' scenes at the beginning of the episode.

The love connections are brilliant and there is just enough dialogue and action to show how close the characters are and what they will do for one another. Due to this, you get really excited to see what will happen when a demon messes with one of them.

Very easy to follow and very sweet, although most things work out and give you a warm feeling at the end, there are the odd occasions when it can leave you in tears or very shocked. A great show, action packed and filled with adventures.

Supernatural (2005–2020)
9/10
Absolutely amazing
24 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I have been waiting for so long for a programme that I can really enjoy, with supernatural undertones. Yes, I have watched Charmed and Buffy but this one has much, much more.

Firstly, Jared and Jensen! Brilliant actors and brilliant characters. This programme tries to be more realistic than things like Buffy and Angel and it works so well. Just 2 lads, in the family business, 'hunting things, saving lives.' Each season has a unique oncoming battle and the individual episodes really make you want to continue watching to see what will happen. There is action, romance and even drama. The audience can see how close Sam and Dean are, even though sometimes they do end up fighting each other and the fact that one of them is normally going to die, makes the audience more accepting of their closeness and emotional dialogue. Plus, you can see and feel the turmoil when one must do something that will inevitable harm or save the other.

The only negative point about this show, I would say is the 6th season. Having a new writer mean they had to find their feet once more, but if you bare with it, it becomes great again. And, you get to see much more of Jared's body so it's not all bad!!!!

They always keep it fresh with new and returning characters, some lovable, some annoying and even remind you of them seasons later. This is so much fun for the fans, as they remember exactly who this character is and know why Sam and Dean want to forget. To help the unfamiliar, there are a few 'previously on Supernatural scenes' before each episode.

Brilliant show, very fresh and after 8 seasons it's still going strong. I for one can't wait to see what will happen next!

Melissa & Joey (2010–2015)
A lot of fun
24 January 2014
I came across this programme whilst staying in New York and found I really enjoyed it. I am very fussy about the TV programmes I watch so it was nice to see Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, two actors I grew up watching. The themes and ideas are brilliant and love the role reversal aspect. Melissa's character is so out there and Joey does think he is god's gift to women, which makes it so easy to laugh at them. But, you do feel the love in the family despite this and I think it has been executed very well. It tugs at the heartstrings very well and really makes you want the characters to be happy, which I've not felt from a programme in so long. Of course the ideas are out there, which makes it so much easier to laugh at, this is a comedy after all. This may not be for everyone but I have really enjoyed it and have watched every episode so far.....
