The Flash (2014)
Annoying voice
I love the series, great cast, great stories, but the actor playing Leonard Snark, puts on this really irritating whiney voice. It is so contrived and does not fit in with any other character portrayal.
Accident (2017)
When you have to ask...
You know its bad when, you find yourself asking questions like,
if the crooks can send a helicopter, armed with a 50mm machine gun, to kill the occupants of the car, then why did they not just use the same helicopter to transport the cash in the first place. no need for transponders, no need for hitmen. no need to risk having the car stolen by idiotic horny guys, who don't know the meaning of the word No.
I gave this movie 4 stars, it is more like a 3 or a 3.5
Taking Earth (2017)
A lesson on bad Film making
This Movie is so bad, that I felt I had to comment. This Film should be used as a tool for Film teachers, to teach students that even if you have a good crew, good special effects, a reasonable story and a half decent script, if the Director does a poor job of managing Actors, Script, and direction, you can end up with a big pile of stable droppings. The dialogue seems bad in this film, but that could be in the way these Actors deliver it. At the start of this movie, it seems like almost every actor in this film, got up one morning and decided to try their hand at acting, because this is very unlikely, the blame must be placed firmly on the shoulders of the Director. This Director manages to get stilted, wooden performances out of the entire ensemble. The story is at times, hard to follow due to the stiff performances. Aliens and Humans alike, are all portrayed a bit off center, so it is hard to separate friend from foe.
All in all, a 1 star rating for this Film, I found it surprising that Netflix were offering this film to it's customers.
2012: Ice Age (2011)
Even the trailer is bad
This film is so bad, I thought for sure, I am watching a typical low budget Canadian movie. you know the type, 1. Really bad Directing 2. bad acting (see 1.) 3. terrible FX 4. script jumping all over the place and not explaining "need to know" points.
The type of Canadian movie where the talent pool is weakened by the hiring of relatives or because the person is bilingual (yeah I know!) much to my surprise, this is not a Canadian movie. too bad, If it had been, it would have won a Juno (Canadian Oscar) for sure.
I read a comment where the question of "why this movie did not go straight to DVD, instead of a full theatrical release" was raised, I for one am glad it did not. If you saw this in a video store, in a DVD case, depicting the Statue of liberty covered in snow and a bad blizzard rampaging, you might have to join a solid line-up to get a copy. And that would be a real sad story.
L.A.P.D.: To Protect and to Serve (2001)
What is the Point?
It never fails to amaze me that even with a good cast, big enough budget, ok theme, producers and directors can churn out second rate rubbish like this. even the actors at the end of the movie must be thinking "six guys ten feet apart firing hundreds of shots at each other and it takes a full minute before one hits it's mark"
