The Secret Circle (2011–2012)
10/10
great TV series from the USA on UK TV
7 March 2012
This TV series was first shown last year on sky TV in the u.k and now its on its second series and only has a few weeks left, my mum and I really like it especially the teenagers who are now the new six on the circle of witches, and their parents who were the original six in the circle and Cassie trying to find out about her dad and what her dark side means.. as she is the only one with it. and what are the other parents up to I find that Cassie's grandma is a bit young maybe she has her mum young or cassie was born to a young Mum like some of the other ones as well. I also think that the witch hunters after trying to kill Cassie for some reason but the series is really gripping

Coronation Street (1960– )
9/10
great soap
20 December 2009
I like Coronation street I have watched it since I was five back in 1979 and really like it, and its been going nearly 50 years its a shame they never get best soap anymore.. as its the longest running soap, and they seem to get knocked out of the running in the national TV awards, its about time they changed that as eastenders who have not been going near as long seem to win every time.. so it would be nice for coronation street to be best, soap or longest running to win for a change..the soap has had good story lines in the past and present and they put some humour into it as well not like some other soaps I could mention, and do not keep brining back more and more old characters as well..

great film
13 November 2009
I first saw this film today 12th November 09, and liked it. I felt sorry for the mother who is told that her baby daughter had died but the husband didn't want a down syndrome child, thinking that she might no live to adulthood, as some didn't back then but to just tell the nurse to take her to a home is a bit sad he could have taken a chance, as so many children like that are loving.. at the least the nurse gave her a good home, but it left him feeling guilty for over, 20 years to what he has done. but his wife wanted more children and he didn't I suppose he was frightened that another child would end up like his daughter.. over all this is a great movie and shows the viewers what it was like in the 1960s to have a down syndrome child.

great TV series
31 August 2009
I saw the first episode last night and I was hooked with it, it seems that some of the story lines have similarities with the Ralph fines 1992 adaption.. but with this one its not Gothic but a romantic one instead for more modern people.. and set more in the early 19th century instead of the 18th century,as so many have been done.. but I like the way Heathcliff handles Hindley by getting revenge on him for treating him so badly as a child.. Cathy is great too.. I have read the book many years ago but something new has been added and I like it.. make a refreshing change.. I will not add anymore as I do not want to spoil it for others.. it took its time to be shown on uk TV. it should of been last year but better late than never..

The Grand (1997–1998)
10/10
a very good series
10 May 2009
I really liked the series and the characters. it shows what Manchester was like after the war the people who lived there. there are two brothers the older brother has control of the hotel while the other brother seems put out a bit. but is determind to get his own way and try and take over, the son rerurning from the war helps out.. and some of the staff want bigger things. miss harkness comes to stay at the hotel even though she is, from down London.. the series looks at the people at the hotel owners and staff etc.. I can't understand why some of the Americans dislike the series probably because they cannot understand the language, but at least the UK and come up with a lovely series..

great film
2 December 2008
I have just watched this on the scifi channel in the united kingdom and its gripping film some people who live in the 1800s fall victim the plague and want it to stop but the only way to make a pact. some 100 and odd years later some travellers come across the lost village but unbe known

to them stumble across the people and the curse that come with it the Orga who come once a year. I was very surprised it got onto uk sky channel to quickly as we over here have to wait months to see a film from the USA. but I would suggest if anyone has not seen the film to see it as it got me gripped..

North & South (2004)
10/10
very good mini series
30 November 2008
I liked the TV series when it was shown back in 2004 Iiked the characters when the Hale's move to the north they do not like it at first as they seem to think that the north is dirty and want to return to the south but after a while Miss hale becomes friends with some of the mill workers and the owner and his family.. I think Richard Armatage is great at Mr Thornton. I bought the DVD so I could see it again but I think that the series is great and romantic as well. But I do wish when its shown in the u.s that they would stop wanting all British actors before they have established themselves over here as it spoils it.. But if you haven't seen the TV series then do you will be surprised..

Marple: A Murder Is Announced (2005)
Season 1, Episode 4
9/10
great TV series
24 January 2008
I like Miss Marple mysteries it gets you guessing who the murderer is and then when it get to the end you realise you have got it wrong. I do hope Itv do a series 4, but I have noticed that other countries get some uk dramas first which is wrong as the uk should see them first. you don't see the USA selling their dramas to the united Kingdom first.. it me angry me that where I live in the united Kingdom you have to wait so many months to watch something in your own country. its such a shame that the current miss marple actress has to give up the role she was great.. the one I liked the most was 450 from paddington where the lady sees a murder on another train passing by. please make some more episodes

good series
13 October 2007
I like the series at the moment but there is history fault in it during the 2nd episode, Mary Boyelyn has Henry's son but in British history he couldn't make him a prince, yet he was celebrating the birth if his son, and later on wants a son to make him his heir. the other thing was when the Duke of Buckinham went to the scaffold he had to lie on the ground to be beheaded that was wrong as they kneel and there was no basket to catch the head in. other than that its OK at the moment but I wish the Americans and Canadians please look up the history of Henry 8th and get it right. the series is fine otherwise Henry had red hair not brown.

The Queen (2006)
9/10
great film
3 September 2007
I watched this film on British TV network last night 2nd September I thought Helen Mirren gave a great performance as the Queen its a pity that the Queen herself didn't come back to London when Diana died then the public wouldn't of been so annoyed at her saying away at balmoral for so long, a scene where the Queen was waiting for someone to come and help her out when her car got stuck in water was very well done she sat waiting and saw a lovely stag looking at her and then she looked upset and cried a little.. and I liked it where Tony Blair kept asking the Queen to come back and face the public.. I think the film got its British TV premiere early was to do with the 10th anniversary of Diana's death, as its usually two years before a film get to be screened on TV anywhere in the world..

Marple: The Sittaford Mystery (2006)
Season 2, Episode 4
10/10
great viewing
1 May 2006
I have watched so many miss marple stories and the sittaford mystery was great for me. several characters get together for a Ouija board séance and one murder is predicted. Miss marple is invited to spend a night or two with Clive Trevelyan at his house but he decides to go to the hotel instead and register under another name. and one of characters gives a lift to an journalist. Mel Smith was great as Clive's friend who took it upon himself to investigate the murder with the help of the journalist and Emily.. I don't want to give much away, in case I spoil things but I think other comments from other viewers have their own views it is up to the viewer what they think.. but for me this was great iam a great fan of Timothy Dalton and I thought it was nice to see him on British TV again after so many years..

great production from the UK and Australian networks
13 April 2006
I haven't seen this mini series yet but from what I have seen on the trailers shown on UK TV it looks great. I do not like however that the Australians seem to think that the mini series was totally done by them, the UK network did some of it as well so the UK should be mentioned. it may of been made in Australia but it has good British cast. and is well made. so if any Australians are out there please remember that the British had a hand in making the production as well as Australia it makes me mad that a mini series that is done outside of the UK is not mentioned and only the country that it is being made is mentioned. but I think the British will love this mini series as well as the Australian's did.

Rome (2005–2007)
great BBC and HBO production
4 January 2006
Rome is shown in the UK on BBC on Wednesday nights I like the series very true to life, especially the two roman soldiers who work for Cesar it is a bit bloody and violent but it is worth watching to see what Rome got up to back then. the BBc and HBO have come up with a great TV series. running for 9, 50 minute episodes and one 90 min episode Iam glued and hope that there will be a second series. and that the BBc joining in with HBO in the production. the only thing I noticed is that HBO is said to be the production and the BBc are left out at the beginning, but the actors are all British no Americans are in it at all. so if there is another series, I hope the name BBc is included in the beginning of credits. as it looks as though HBO did the series all by themselves..

The Lion in Winter (2003 TV Movie)
great mini series
28 December 2003
a great mini series but not as good as the film version of 1967 Glenn close is great as Eleanor but I think katherine hepburn was a little better in the role, Patrick stewart is great as Henry and this story tells a little more than the 1960s version and is very good and great acting from the actors. all three boys want to get rid of Henry so one of them can get the crown.
