The Quest (2022)
Good story but....
I enjoyed the story, it reminds me of old style choose your adventure books. This would be great for K-6 kids with a passion for adventure and the D&D genre. Completely safe content.
The casted actors were good and could stand in thier own without the paladins. I had to scratch my head and wonder, why can't they just do this in thier own?
The untrained children paladins and thier fabricated lessons learned were painful to watch.
It was clear that the author wanted to emphasize the value of teamwork, heart, courage and the sort but it just didn't come together.
The last episode is probably the best but the whole story wrapped up without connecting the contributions of the paladins to the local nobility.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Bummed
There were so many great avenues of side story that got left by the side it was embarrassing. They tried to boil the ocean and what came out was flat.
The underlaying theme was very relevant to what we are going through today, but it just didn't connect the dots and the homage to the TV show was weak at best... Worth the $14bucks for a family of 4 on HBOMax but if I had to pay the $50 for a real movie theater, I would have walked out disappointed.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Good but not EPIC
I believe if another 20 minutes was spent on story and character development, the movie would hit the mark, but it felt incomplete.
Without giving away the details, the story of Ultron's creation and endgame felt rushed, into him being nothing more than a computer virus. Also with the addition of the 'new avengers', their development for all but one was very poor, especially at the end and you ask yourself "well who's that guy".
Then there were things that were thrown in and not followed up on, like "the lullaby", and one members feeling of 'lesser worth'. If you are going to throw stuff in, why introduce it and not follow up on it?
This will undoubtedly be a hit, and its certainly worth the full price of admission, but with all the hype I expected something crisper.
