Brothers (I) (2009)
8/10
Brotherhood, French love Triangle and War

When it comes to Performances Jim Sheridan does an amazing job .He is one of the best Actor's Director and he can get the best of Actors.

Amazing that many people in reviews mentioned Toby Maguire's amazing Performance and he is truly amazing .

why no one talks about Jake Gyllenhaal ? He is really really good , they way Jake walks and talks and reacts is very good, you feel like he is just came out of prison , look at him in the first dinner scene , the way he holds a fork is just amazing.

Toby Maguire deserved much more recognition for this movie , he delivered.

There is one thing I have to say about MAKE UP of this movie , it is fascinating and it helps performances a lot, the way they changed Toby which is very subtle and not noticeable to an untrained eye it is just beautiful and you have no idea how much it helps to sell the image and even the performance.

Natalie Portman is really perfect when she goes emotional but when she is working with kids and talks to them the chemistry is not there.

I can say this is a very good movie because it takes you in really quickly , has a great rhythm and Performances are really amazing. The only problem I got is the ending, kinda loose and you don't feel anything , maybe that is what Producers had in mind.

I think the movie is highly underrated both by audience and the critics, Brothers deserved a lot more.

very cool title , very disappointing movie
31 December 2010
The title is as good as it gets , but hopelessly that is the only good thing about this movie.

as an animation Director everything about this movie made me feel bad, From a bad second handed story to Animations to Lighting and Shadings , everything is at a standard far far away from Hollywood.

When you wanna write a script you need a lot of research specially if you doing a period movie or something about animals or anything for that matter, something missing in here, something big.

Andrew Stanton, the Oscar winning Director of Wall E and Finding Nemo once said when your work is a xerox of a xerox of a xerox you would better think twice . Many scenes in this movie are poor quality xeroxes of other movies like Lion King and by Poor Quality I mean poor quality.

When Tangled , How to Train your Dragon, and Toy Story 3 are at movie theaters and you can see those , why would you even bother to go and watch this.

Wolfs are magnificent creatures but in this movie they were lowered and watered down to the level of dumb jackals.

Jaws (1975)

if this movie is great and not only great but an example that paved new ways for film makers to test out new territories and go beyond.

The technique that Spielberg used in this movie and later in many other breath taking thrillers is all hope is lost and not yet , again you feel there is no way back and a nice trick and back again.

This Pressure building that is getting more and more intense sequence by sequence is the bases that PIXAR used it on Toy Story and almost every movie they made, not to mention Back to the future.

The entire world of film making owes Spielberg because of this roller coaster ride.

This movie is the role model not just for Pixar but many many other Studios, Writers and Directors.

Mr.Spielberg , Salute

if you attending art galleries of new post post modern artists..

if you like Jim Jarmusch or David Lynch or simply wanna call yourself intellect cause you love movies you don't understand a scene of, but later you wanna show off by naming their names while attending art galleries of some new post post post modern artists, this movie is for you.

Otherwise you gonna hate it , and be bored to death, more than 90% people who gonna see this will leave movie theater, change the channel or curse themselves why they paid to watch this, but a very few people gonna love it and some few others who would attend Galleries mentioned above gonna say they love it while got nothing of it.

I personally did not like it at all , while watched it hoping for another lost in translation, I could call this lost in EDITING ROOM, This movie belongs to era that editing were not invented, since every shot is long enough to get you bored .........and bored........and .......a....I better get some sleep

this movie is like Heavy metal, not for everyone, you gonna love it or hate it , there is no in between

a total waste of talent , money, time and .....
26 December 2010
You look at the cast and feel like this should be a good movie but it is not.

You expect the performances to be fine but there is not a single performance in the movie that you can point out and say OK not even a single scene.

I did not like anything about it , specially the fact that in many scene there is no sound or music, I think the director felt like this could intensify the situation but it turned it into a silence movie.

It was either a good script butchered by awful direction or these 5 talented actors were wrong for doing this movie, either way I won't even want to watch A minute of it again
