Disappointing!
24 May 2024
The movie starts well but right after first few minutes, the whole entertainment quotient starts fading out and after hardly half n hour or so it becomes an absolute nonsensical sequence of tired clichés and forced humor. Supporting performance is terrible, their characters in the script are underdeveloped and serve more as props for Lucy's journey rather than fully fleshed-out individuals.

Their acting also doesn't look real. Lucy Hale, who stars as the protagonist, however..does her best to save some grace by her girly charm, but thats all. There is nothing more in the movie.

The narrative's exploration of this premise is shallow and predictable, full of awkward and cringeworthy moments rather than genuine innocent/heartfelt scenes required for the character. Also, the attempt at romance falls totally flat. Its overall a very disappointing film i'd not suggest anyone to watch.

Laughable, Disastrous!
25 September 2021
This film is probably the worst i have seen in recent years. Usually films based on true events are "average" by default because they don't have to have a creative script of own, the element of "reality" itself is engaging enough for audience so filmmaker's don't need to make extra efforts. Surprisingly Here, they have spoilt even a real life thrilling incident of history and great potential of a patriot raw agent's character.

The film is throughout laughable. Right from the beginning to the very end, it just doesn't improve.. in-fact the later half is worse. As you'd expect from an Akshay Kumar flick.. female roles are pretty short and worthless. Most laughable is Lara dutta's attempt of playing Indira Gandhi. She doesn't even look like 3rd copy of indira ji.. rather a hopeless blank prime minister of bangladesh!

Negative characters have acted like jokers of a circus and there was not even a single second of thrill, fear or tension even during situations as grave as hijack. Screenplay is deeply infected with cartoonish exaggeration and acting of everyone in general looks ridiculously fake. Songs and emotional scenes are forcefully pushed regularly and you won't connect to the story at any point. Akshay Kumar has tried being james bond and Indian patriot soldier at the same time, stealing all the attention yet again trying to take charge of everything, a one man show. Everyone else is throughout listening to him and letting him do everything just the way he likes. This unbelievable trash is light years far from reality. Graphics, Makeup, Background, just name it and i will tell you how badly its spoit by makers of this film. Please save yourself from this torture and skip this one.

Disappointing!
16 September 2021
Another show that starts very slow, improves in the middle and then leaves you disappointed in the end. The whole concept of drama vs typical comedy sitcom is a great idea because the contrast could've been awesome, i had high hopes as far as dark comedy and sarcasm is concerned but, the writers have chosen to retain more than they could. If this show doesn't get extension, i'd say its ridiculous. Just so full of cliffhangers and characters doing crap to just bring something new to the plate, which is just BAD!

Allison and patty's characters are nicely played but the writing is far from interesting. I just wish this is gonna get renewed for another season because i really wanna resolve my god damn unresolved plot questions in the end. I can very well say writers can F themselves!

Impactful, Haunting and Bold
2 July 2020
After NH10, this is Anushka Sharma production's second film which penetrates the heart and mind to depth. Infact its disturbing enough to not be forgotten for a long time. The movie reflects ugliness of our real society thats been hiding behind curtains and conveniently brushed under carpets since decades and centuries. Dont misjudge the film as "just another period drama" or "just a visually rich ordinary horror film".. its very relevant to today's society as well. even though it looks like a dark fairytale, its an ironic reality check in disguise at the same time. The story is inspired from bangla folklores and legends of the goddess which i have heard in the past and may be which is why there was not much suspense for me and I guessed the climax quite easily. *sigh*

Performance by #TriptiDimri looks very natural and she exceeded my expectations as a newcomer, #RahulBose as usual did his role flawlessly. #AvinashTiwari 's short role is also ok. The weaker elements in the movie are its mediocre cinematography, exaggerated unrealistic vfx and pathetic computer graphics.. specially the "haveli" looked like cheap daily soap's creation. too much smoke n bright pink light all the time also spoilt many scenes. Background Score also was pretty stale and monotonous. "Bulbbul" has its flaws but i am still gonna call it recommendable. Amidst meaningless star studded masala crap of bollywood, such brave impactful movies with newcomers are much needed. Film's budget apparently wasn't much either.. I hope Makers will make considerable profit via Netflix release and tv rights. Good story telling indeed. ******I'd rate it 7 out of 10*********

Great Script..I am glad its extending to season 2
12 July 2019
Well I have always been interested in subjects involving God or anything which somehow bridges fantasy and the real world..this show is "said" to be copied from classics In the past but I have found this very fresh and original in its own way..Concept is not what we haven't ever seen but each episode is written with finesse. Characters are developed very strongly and all of them play their part to perfection. Music has been a little more prominent than usual shows of US but it sounded very nice..it supporyed the script pretty well. There has been no useless spice or suspense and the whole first session starts n ends in undisturbed rhythm and constant tempo. I am very satisfied with how it ended and surely gonna wait for season 2...By now i have been pretty addicted to be "hearing from God" and i dont want it to end soon. This show talks about hope and faith..so it's surely gonna offend a lot of people here, specially "Atheists"...to them I just want to say,if not for the sake of God..like it and live it for the sake of humanity, this show tells all of us the value of being there for each other in need..and the value of helping anyone in need irrespective of discrimination and differences..and for that i love the makers..I also love the cast here specially Cara bloom and the gay girl.. This is all about equality and humanity...

anushka and her role spoils the film
30 January 2019
Typical SRK flick! Exaggerated,Unreal and larger than life yet entertains nicely in the first half..Srk's midget role is enjoyable and involving enough until intermission...but after that,it slows down and becomes very stretched in the last quarter so editing could have been better for sure..there is too much emphasis on anushka Sharma's role and her screenplay at times felt way too annoying..katrina's acting is hopeless as usual. glamour and sex appeal has been injected forcefully in the story...the script could have been very nice but sadly it changes for worse in the second half and finally concludes with a facepalm climax. My warning again,if your taste is realism and relatable cinema please skip this movie..you ll like it only n only if you are SRK's fan.His midget role will be memorable for the fans.. AjayAtul's music is above average and adds some positively to the movie. Our rating for this movie 6 out of 10..for more such content. Follow DazzleGlobe on Instagram and facebook

Not hateful.above average attempt.
30 January 2019
I love cinema/documentaries based on true incidents..no matter if its a historical period saga or something derived from recent past..it interests me quite a lot. However,80% times i'd get disappointed specially as far as Bollywood is concerned. I was waiting for #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister but with less expectations and a lot of preconceived notions.I thought it's going to simply troll our exPM and gonna end up as another exaggerated hypocritical/unreal "far from facts" kind of a mess.. BUT... I am pleasantly surprised after watching its first show on the #releaseday itself. Most of My prejudices for this one were wrong (blame-MEDIA) "TAPM" is a very brave attempt at truestorytelling for Indian Cinema, for the first time ever..Real Names have been used and things have been shown quite transparently. Not even for once did i feel there was any desperate attempt of defamation or a politically motivated agenda behind whatever is shown.. Yes,they didn't stupidly hide any name or references due to fear but thats all ! There is no exaggeration/shaming/trolling involved. Infact,Just like reality..AnupamKher's character reflects exPM as the victim of circumstances..yet a very positive/intelligent/capable personality. what i didn't like..well..Sonia Gandhi and Rahul's makeup and screenplay could have been closer to reality, both looked a little off..sonia's hair specially.. The parliament session shots are very poor, the extras are overacting there.. also, even though anupam kher did a commendable job i felt he could mimic manmohan's voice a little better..with more modulation maybe.. A lot from this movie has been shot in The Oberoi Maiden's Hotel of New Delhi..I have stayed there so I identified in no time...it felt great cos of that but then broadly if we see,set design looked a little too colonial..to be honest. Best thing about the movie is,it concludes nicely and there is no hate agenda unlike what was being circulated by the "liberals" in the media. Narrative and pace remains balanced till the end. Background music is nice and there is no masala/drama mixed uselessly so.. I'd surely recommend this movie to everyone interested in the Indian politics and history and gonna rate it 7.5 on 10..follow DazzleGlobe for more on Instagram and Facebook

P.S- Even in a Metro,Less than 50people showed up in a big size theatre that too on the release day..despite discounts and cheap price.. Indian majority doesn't care unless there are item numbers/violence and vulgarity in films or STARKIDS! thats so damn sadddd!

Trailer was bad. Movie is Very Good. Watch for Kangana
30 January 2019
The Trailer of this movie was disastrous to say the least, the HarHarMahadev cry looked awful in the trailer hence my expectation with the movie was pretty low..However,i'v been liking her bold persona both on and off screen IMHO after watching the film also is..noone else could have played "Manikarnika Aka Jhansi ki Rani" better than how she did...As far as KanganaRanaut is concerned,Her hard work can be seen (as an actor) the combat scenes, the emotional shots etc look very impactful...her entry shot in the movie reminded me of "Merida" from Walt Disney's Brave, probably because I love curls and this girl in general. There are some renowned actors to support the film here like Kulbhushan Kharbanda,Suresh Oberoi,Danny and Atul Kulkarni but sadly their roles have been poorly written,at the same time there has been extra emphasis on kangana...The script also reflects very loose historical correctness. It glorifies a lot of kangana's personal agenda instead of purely sticking to facts in the history (Due to Kangana's own direction maybe?") A lot of shots look laughable like British officer's kaali dream, gwaliar Schindhia shot etc YET others are quite impactful..eg The final sequence in the movie disappointed me the most. It's very poor compared to rest of the movie which was fairly good.. My expectations of good dialogues and screenplay due to such strong subject were not met. Prasoon Joshi absolutely failed to meet the demands of such strong historical characters. The music is extremely shameful..just didn't sound like someone as established as ShankarEhsanLoy wrote for this movie..BGM also fails to make an impact. I just WISH WISH AND WISH AR RAHMAN HAD SCORED FOR MANIKARNIKA ---CONCLUSION --- So to sum up,there are lots n lots of loopholes but still this movie is a one time watch..you'll atleast get to experience the triumph glory and bravery of THE GREAT QUEEN OF JHANSI..so a must watch for deshbhakts and indian history Lovers. I ll rate it 7/10...only for kangana n the great subject of this film.

P.S-- kangana should not direct films...😝😝

Kedarnath (2018)
5/10
Not even a disaster movie! Title is misleading..
9 December 2018
Watched it on friday expecting the movie to be totally focused on the Kedarnath tragedy of 2013 but..sadly i was wrong. 70percent of the movie only revolves around romance between sushant singh rajput and sara ali khan, communal conflict, differences of social status, opposition of families and similar stereotypical elements you'll find in any bollywood love story.Until Intermission and even 20mins after it..there's nothing about the tragedy..only in the climax its there..and that too relates to their "siyapa"...Script is extremely poor and it neither does justice as a love story nor shows the tragedy as one'd expect. I dont like sushant as his roles are all same. He is always a "too good to be true" hero... Although,Sara Ali Khan's performance is way better than i expected from her,she didnt do as pathetic as shridevi's daughter jahnvi. Sara atleast sustains her mother's standard and almost looked same as amrita singh.. Visual effects are extremely poor in this film and if you watch Hollywood films, you'll laugh at their attempt of showing the disaster. Its awfully lame and unbelievable...Actual shots of the region are beautiful and you may appreciate them occasionally. For me, Kedarnath failed terribly as a disaster movie but as far as bollyromance debut of sara is concerned, its fair enough... how you'll accept this movie is upto your taste.. if you've liked Dhadak,MsDhoni,Azhar kind of movies..you can give it a try!

I will rate it-- 5 out of 10

Emotional,memorable and inspiring!
23 October 2018
I was expecting this movie to be good and it didn't disappoint me. Its shot nicely and scenery is realistic.editing is also relevant and happens to be impactful. Directorial elements have established very fine details and emotional depth of the script..if you have an eye for it,you'll surely understand the deeper meanings hidden in the shots. Background music isn't invasive yet supports the story without a fail. Acting performance is beyond great! It all looks so real and relatable that one point,i felt the amount of helplessness, sadness and intimidation of being in the pacific without any help. If you have seen the trailer, there is more to find out in the movie. the rhythm and tempo of the story is just right. You will think you know it all but you ll stay involved till the end. I can guarantee that. I will surely recommend this movie to everyone seeking relatable/true event based emotional story. Visual effects are not extraordinary but wont let you feel disappointed anywhere in the scene. This move may look like a vlog to a most of people but I request you to not judge it and go through it once. There is a lot in the movie. P.S- dont try googling the true event otherwise your excitement will die and you may end up being less involved.

Sanju (2018)
6/10
Average and Not as Good as i expected.
29 June 2018
I've Been a big sanjay dutt fan,not for his acting or stardom but for his unparalleled fighting spirit and strength of facing challenges in life and survival. Bad drug addiction,Losing loved ones to cancer and brain tumour, chronic depression n anxiety, divorce, separation from children and legal accusations like terrorism and decades of torture in courts and jail. He everytime bounces back and thats what i find inspiration about sunjay dutt. Undoubtedly i wanted to see this movie as soon as possible..and i was expecting a lot from it. Overall its good enough as a one time watch but not as per my expectations..Script is not very elaborate and skips a lot of important incidents in "sanju"'s life.. the screenplay is also quiet weak..vulgarity and obscenity is uselessly added to make things interesting, some shots are exaggerated and looks unreal. Impactful and intense sequences are there but editing isn't balanced..the typical raju hirani kind of friendship angle has got overemphasis and other critical events weren't portrayed properly. Music and signature tune is also boring n bland, thank god they went to RAHMAN and got ruby ruby song which saved the sinking music ship. Quiet surprisingly,i didnt like paresh rawal in sunil dutt's role. On the brighter side,Ranbir did the dark intense scenes pretty nicely.Best thing about his role is that he didn't try being carbon copy sanjay dutt.he just picked the character and played it like "ranbir". manisha koirala plays realistic "nargis" as she is a cancer survivor in real life as well. Sanju overall is good but i was expecting way better than this. Cant rate it more than 6 out of 10

Raazi (2018)
8/10
Worth Praising!
28 May 2018
If not the best,Raazi is surely a movie every indian cinema lover would appreciate and remember for a long time. Its based on a true story of an unsung hero named sehmat who risked her life and brought the information from Pakistan via spying which eventually made India win the War of 70s... To People who watched and appreciated Ghazi Attack,Raazi narrates prior "ghazi attack" days and the contribution of our secret agencies in procuring inputs that helped in the 1973 victory against Pakistan and Independence of Bangladesh. Aliya bhatt's acting is quiet realistic and meghana's direction is noticeably nice. Some Dialogues also leave a mark having that gulzarish fragrance.. eg i was really touched with sehmat's father's dialog dying with tumour- "beedi cigerette toh kabhi pee nahi shayad zindgi ke kash hi kuch gehre laga liye.."

Background music of the film is powerful and not overdramatised...although better songs were expected from shankar ehsan loy. Flow of the screenplay remains constant and the movie nicely keeps you involved. Climax of the movie has little exaggerated sentiments but other than that, raazi is an exceptional movie.

fan's dream come true
19 March 2017
Ever since i saw the first teaser,i was dying to see this childhood favourite animation movie come alive as a liveaction Hollywood adaptation. As any other DisneyFairytale fan,my expectations were way too high with this one.Although i was not very pleased with their casting (EmmaWatson and Luke evans specially),i had no shortage of desperation to finally witness the epic eternal love story produced in today's advanced filmmaking facilities. And i am happy to say that i didn't get disappointed this time. This movie has met all my expectations and exceeded in some aspects.3D effects are extremely aesthetic and quiet a feast to eyes.the CG work of particles, fur, cloth etc is of sheer brilliance (as i would expect with Disney,it was perfectly balanced and neither photorealistic nor cartoonish..) There is nothing to say about the story etc as we all know it since our childhoods.Disney didn't waste runtime on establishing the plot and only focused on its grand "portrayal".Which is a good thing (And exactly where Junglebook,Snowwhite n maleficient failed) There is this "Be our guest" sequence which is breathtaking beautiful. It just mesmerises for few seconds. Belle is dressed in a magical yellow gown and beast comes up so elegantly there. Cogsworth, lumiere and chip (living objects of the palace) are animated very cutely.I'd not compare their expressions with the 1991 2D masterpiece though, inner child in me loved them all! 3D effects and complimenting cinematography makes you go awestruck quiet regularly till the end. The only thing which could have been wayy better is the "music". It wasn't something unpleasant ,but this being a "musical",needed freshness and not too stretched singing solos and repetitive same old ensemble BGM we have heard countless times elsewhere. All in all,i am very happy with this movie and i can say that it will stay in my collection for years! This isn't the first time when Disney did a classic remake, this is indeed the first time when Disney made me fall in love again!

Dear Zindagi (2016)
8/10
Breath of fresh air :)
25 November 2016
Hello zindagi is the story of a girl who is living a perfect life.Well, perfect at least as per our society's dictionary definition of perfection. She has a beautiful face, hot body and career of her choice that makes good money and name.but still, she is pained due to her inner turmoil and ailing emotional state. She is always irritated, hateful, agitated, hopeless, depressed but trying to suppress and look OK.She is repulsed from romance, couples and eligible bachelors around her although she is desperately trying to find some inner peace. On the other hand,Shahrukh khan is playing a very calm, helpful n skilled therapist whose approach is not like traditional counselors or psychiatrists. He is more of a confidant and helps alia to cope up with her inner child issues that are creating troubles in her personal life.Dear zindagi has also shown how judgemental our society is. How someone is humiliated and pressurised to get married on time,or to be called "mad" even if there is a little sadness grief or depression in life.

Being a big fan of alternative healing techniques and metaphysics,This movie was nothing less than a breath of fresh air for me.Best point-whole movie was realistic and didn't add any bollywood branded masala to alter the element of realism. SRK and Alia both have done a very natural role throughout the movie and one can easily connect to alia's smiles, her tears, her anger..her suppression and her outbursts..everything!

Movie gets a little slow in the second half and feels lengthy as well. Editing could be crisp. Also, side roles specially alia's friends and ali zafar's appearance looked boring and a little uncalled for.Other than that,Dear Zindagi just leaves a soothing warmth in hearts. Its pleasant to see that India is gaining awareness and seeking new age methods surrendering the typical bias, taboos and dogmatic theories. In the end i'd like to mention two lines of SRK or Dr Jahangir Khan which i really liked (wisdom quotes you can call them) "Genius is the one who knows where to stop" And "Dont let your PAST Blackmail your present to Ruin your FUTURE" :)

My Rating to the movie- 8/10

Below average
18 November 2011
Well,to start with..i should tell u that i am a big Kate Hudson fan. I loved her performance, her acting in the movie. Now,if u take Kate Hudson out of this movie...only crap is left Very below average performance by her doctor and friend's characters The direction becomes horrible in the climax as thr movie becomes very slow in the later half. The element of romance is absent in the story, this is one of the biggest reason i am disappointed with the movie. It cud hv been way way better.not worth a watch. N even if u do(as a Kate Hudson fan) Dnt xpect anything for this movie. The mother's character too is very shallow and doesn't contain what i xpected. Finally i would just say that it was a pathetic attempt at creating emotional depth in audience mind.failure i wud say!
