wATCH it! Brilliant, human & wonderfully moving.
25 January 2024
I cannot stress enough the value of watching this moving Documentary. As another user said, "not nearly long enough." It left me wanting more for sure- is a good way. Wonderfully written, shot, & edited. And the sound! Using the kids in the score recording was genius. You will not be sorry you spent the time. The experience helps remind you people have stories and are worth spending the time to listen & learn about. Music is such an important part of our lives. In so many unique and various ways sound touches us all. Whether you play or just listen- even if you play for your own pleasure or professionally, or casually listen or you're a diehard hard fan, music moves you.

Incredible Story inside a larger story
16 November 2023
I found it incredibly inspiring. I have spinal issues myself and I believe I've found who I need to model my attitude and struggle after. And I'm forty seven. Thank you David Holmes. You are a special souls and have clearly helped those near and dear to you whether you know it or not. Watching your story tonight helped me a great deal. So thanks for sharing your life & friends with the world. This documentary will do special things for those struggling out there with traumatic injuries and large life challenges. I'm so glad to see the former Harry Potter cast mates you bonded with are still around.

Breathtakingly shot, edited, & scored. The best HEARTBREAK.

Moved me in an uncommon way and I've been a paramedic since 2001. It's an amazing journey and I can't say enough for the production & direction. This was done in a way honoring all involved. Perfect. Simply perfect. I'm a documentary fan and love learning about others lives & what's out there. What shocked me is how incredible this material was put together and to tell this tale of love & loss. But yet unimaginable hope & love permeates the film. All I can say is they got it right. And that happens less often theses days. It's worth the time & them sum. I already want to rewatch it with my daughter.

The Baby (2022)

Floored! There are awesome shows, then there's the amazing Baby!
5 June 2022
Well written & produced as you'd expect from HBO. What I didn't expect is a cerebral thriller/drama/horror-ish show that makes you think hard as to motive, intent, & direction. It's a proper page turner. Honestly, I probably only gave it a shot because it was on HBO & may have if on another top producer. I've been so surprised how curious I am to know what the deal with the baby is. Is it a devil, genetically modified, possessed, or just pissed off ? It's slightly Hitchcockian it doesn't fit the mold and I love that. It's so hard to find original ideals newly created work that this show is a bit of a miracle. Not for those who need things delivered & explained, but rather for those who see the potential in a great concept & want to figure it all out! Also, the artwork for the show is amazing.

Her Stanford Professor summed her up perfectly.

Lying, cheating, stealing. Meet Elizabeth Holmes. I am equally concerned with the comparisons to Jobs, Edison, & even da Vinci..... You must have much more than a miraculous idea and at least some potential for it's possible production.

Holme's lied to everyone. This is an excellent piece about her.

Prepare to be shocked. What disappoints me the most is that Holmes caused irreparable harm to her investors, but more importantly the potential in having a female President. For that matter, a female anything. Which bothers me to no end. I have a daughter in college right now as a father, people like Holmes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Holme's greasy sin is that she has harmed women & their future.

Oh come on... it's just for fun!! And fun it was!

If your looking to be entertained for a bit without expecting a serious Sundance jurors' selection, you're in for a hell of a fun ride. If your a nerd and know some basics about WW2 aviation history & the integration of electronics during that period, you're bound to have a blast!

If you're looking for a serious horror pic, or some Stanly Kubrick inspired piece of art, then you won't have fun & you'll rate this a 3. Shame on you.

Gremlins were blamed for all the odd and unusual equipment breakages, malfunctions, & failures. And if you've read Richard Matheson, Nightmare at 20,000 feet, or caught the Twilight Zone episode they did based on that Richard Matheson story, you'll have fun with this movie. It's playful and has some excellent girl power mojo and is just a good time.

Had lots of potential but seemed disconnected...
4 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm being generous because I appreciate the effort here- and everyone needs experience somewhere. He'll get it one day, but this movie suffers from not knowing or being able to choose a genera. Horror? Not so much. But I think it could have been fantastic if the writing provided more substance & narrative- development. It was just lost. Suggestions of a eclipse but the back story lacked connection & left little reason for the kids to stay & try to kill the beast or just escape.

It could have been a cool Goonies type of film but it seemed the director wanted a real "monster" I guess.

The kids were excellent and despite the director's lack of experience. They were the only saving grace. With some more cohesion & a bit more sensible logic, there could've been a fun kid "horrorish" film here. The make-up & monster were good. If not maybe too good for the rest of the movie?

Honestly, the first 20 minutes were solid. The sound was recorded well but the computer orchestration was a bit over done. The director just needed to tie everything together instead of taking several "good" ideals & shooting them & realizing there's only a half of a film in editing. I had high hopes. I'll certainly give him another chance in the future.

Absolute Horror Show (the Bad kind)
31 October 2020
Cheap, stupid, & terrible writing. The scene at the autopsy was pathetically ridiculous. Only the absolute brainless can endure.

Unfortunately, several good actors signed on but won't be able to save it.

What an assembly of talent! Unfortunately, it combines incoherent writing, production & direction that is best described as though they all worked separate productions.

I haven't watched a season of such horrible material and execution since Netflix started streaming. I have heard the POD cast was incredible. Example of Sci-Fi gone bad.
