The Goat Life (2024)
Failed trying to find balance between art & commercial
The film is worth watching, but there are many superior survival movies that offer a more rewarding experience for the same three-hour investment. "Society of the Snow" stands as a recent benchmark in the genre, and unfortunately, this film falls short of that.
The narrative suffers from a lack of a compelling theme, with certain segments dragging on unnecessarily. The romantic subplot is particularly weak; it's not only poorly crafted but also fails to contribute meaningfully to the overall story, despite occupying a substantial portion of the first act.
The pivotal elements of the film commence too late, by which time the audience may have already lost interest due to the earlier lackluster content. However, the desert sequences stand out, showcasing commendable performances by the trio of actors portraying the survivors.
The conclusion of the movie is jarringly abrupt, leaving viewers without any insight into the lives of the enigmatic character who joined the trek or the Malayali individual who offered aid.
In summary, the romantic elements are excessively drawn out, the desert scenes are satisfactory, and the ending feels rushed, as if the production was constrained by budget limitations and had to hastily wrap up, akin to the final moments of writing an exam.
Pidikittapulli (2021)
Attempted a Priyadarshan but late by 20 years.
One of the worst movies that can be made with such great and talented cast. The story is non existent, script is not funny with forced nostalgia and random dialogues that don't belong anywhere.
Udalaazham (2018)
Great potential, abrupt ending
Mixed emotions watching the movie. It is a good watch as it portrays parts and aspects of society that are hidden parts of the Kerala society. A better storyline/editing could have made this a gem.
I would reccomend it a watch to understand the dark nooks and corners of Kerala.
The Kung Fu Master (2020)
Slow and boring, poor camera and dialogues/acting
The action scenes were shot with super close camera angles. Camera is never stationary and the editing makes things more chaotic.
The dialogue delivery is really bad and so is some of the acting.
Do not reccomend watching, skip.
Swapnarajyam (2019)
Unexpected gold of a movie.
I watched this with 0 expectations but was rewarded with a great watch.
Very relatable for expats abroad. A simple feel good movie. A honest attempt to make a movie and a lot of room for improvement especially in the sound department.
Kachi (2021)
No story, abysmal acting, poor direction, childish sound work
One of the worst movies ever made. Everything is all over the place. Actors cannot maintain character. There is no concept of passage of time in the movie and the characters have an IQ of 0.
Avoid at all costs.
Stand Up (2019)
Great potential, worst execution
Super slow, unecessary bloat scenes and characters!
Why were there people for the marriage proposal scene, party, dialogues for nurse, scenes for the police station.
Why was the standup necessary? Standup did not make sense and almost all the actors were poor at acting.
Jimmy Ee Veedinte Aiswaryam (2019)
Enthiro enth!
Screenplay hats off- could not make it worse! A pathetic attempt at movie.
