The Last of Us: Part II (2020 Video Game)
10/10
It can't be anything else but 10/10
4 April 2024
It's grows on you. It's the last of us game play you expect but a story that takes unexpected twists and turns, slowly luring you into a whole new world of emotions. The music is perfect, the graphics are stunning, but most of all the character development is the best I have ever ever seen. I've played 100s, maybe 1000s of games.

This is easily the best game ever made. It's not just entertainment, it's a journey. It becomes part of who you are, and when you finish it, you leave a part of yourself with it.

Stunning. There's no other way to describe this game. Every moment is perfect, commit yourself to this wonderful journey - you won't regret it.

A beautiful, elegant and timeless piece of television
6 November 2022
I love this show, it's an almost perfect adaptation of the Riverbank that goes beyond the novel and really creates an entire world. The narration, the animation, the morales and adventure are a beautiful picturesque snapshot of days gone by, walks by the river, and an acknowledgement of the animal world and seasons around it.

It's more than nostalgic, this program is my childhood. Every Birthday or Christmas I would open a rectangular gift and hope it was another VHS for my collection. Even now I still watch it, and marvel at the detail of the animation, the wonderful voice actor work and giggle at the antics of Toad.

A beautiful show.

Strap in, switch off - action!
24 July 2022
Let's get this straight - this, is, an action movie. It's made up of set pieces and interactions that involve guns, cars, explosions and punches.

Many of the reviews here seem to be expecting something different and are disappointed with the movie, however you should read between the lines and manage your expectations.

It's a really enjoyable movie for what it is, and Ana D Armas and Ryan Gosling are both incredible. The action scenes are well shot, choreographed and while the little nods to things like Bourne and MacGuyver are really well Done.

Give it a go if you like the occasional pop corn movie - really enjoyed it!

Fantastic.

If you like Breaking Bad, Better call Saul, Atlanta, this program is for you. It's a perfect show. It really is.

I haven't seen a show with this many levels for a long time - one moment it can be violent and grizzly, the next it's tugging on your heart strings and giving you a moment to reflect on the ones you love.

Ryan is incredible as Ray, and his entourage of friends and family are all excellent supporting cast members that add to Rays world.

I explore you to watch and stick with it if you like crime, black comedy and story arcs that build and build.

Leatherface cares not for cancel culture
19 February 2022
There's always a sense of apprehension with this franchise - there's things you expect to see;
  • weird backdrop: check
  • unhinged maniac: check
  • chainsaw brutality: CHECK

But that's all this film feels like; a checklist of events written into a story that doesn't really grab you or make much sense. The character development is poor and the scares and fights are exactly what you would expect.

I think it's time for leatherface to hang up his chainsaw. This story is done.

A worthy if slightly disappointing ending.
13 October 2021
The final Craig Bond movie is probably one of the best all things considered. It delivers what you would expect, and brings some new energies - some of which are very much Bond, and some that are not.

The first half is very much a spectacle, and worthy of the big screen, before it disappears into something a bit elongated and confusing.

The cast are fantastic, if under used (often the most interesting are pushed to the side) and the story and context fails to fully explain its self.

The moment you expect like the chases, gun fights and McGuyver ingenuity are there, but feel a little lost towards the end.

Probably 30 minutes too long, and leaves you scratching your head at points - it's one of the better Bonds, but is no Casino Royale.

Time for a new take.

Don't even bother
5 October 2021
Poorly written, badly casted, and I feel like this movie misses the point that it's supposed to be a horror. It's not even entertaining as a 'new take' as it misses every mark your expect from the franchise.

Honestly - feel free to ignore me and then come back here and tell me I was right, it is awful.

More daunting than haunting
10 October 2020
I watched the first series - and it was ok. I expected more from this and from the makers to learn from their faults. However it's quite the opposite....

This one, is dull, slow and boring. A complex story that takes too long to reveal the 'why' and characters you can't help but loathe. It's 9 episodes that could have been wrapped up in 4. The concept it's self is lifted from every other spooky story you've ever heard and the only saving grace was when it ended and I could watch something else. I stuck with it hoping it would improve, but it's just not that interesting, not that spooky or entertaining.

If you're are excepting scares, horror and spookiness, you will be disappointed. If you are expecting to not know what's going on for 90% of the series - this is for you.
