I was really looking forward to watching Renfield. But I was more than disappointed. This movie is too similar to What We Do in the Shadows. Nicolas Hoult's Renfield is exactly like Guillermo. It's annoying because I'm a huge fan of What We Do in the Shadows. I don't know what the creators of Renfield were thinking. Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage are both great actors but their talents are wasted in Renfield. The script is missing authenticity. There is a lot of over acting, the plot is overbearing, and it's too fast moving. I didn't laughter once. So, I wouldn't call it a comedy. Gangsters and vampires just don't work. I refuse to watch a sequel. Hopefully there isn't one.

Jurassic World Dominion
(2022)
Enjoyable but lacking
6 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have to be honest, I wasn't bored for a moment while watching Jurassic World Dominion. The creators managed to keep you on your toes just like in all the other movies in this franchise.
Here are the positive things I've noticed in Jurassic World Dominion: Jeff Goldblum has the best lines and does a great job as usual. The acting is good. The visual effects are good. The main story or idea is there.
Not good-- it's just too much. It's one dinosaur showdown after the next. I don't care which T-Rex to bigger to bigger. It just doesn't stop. Then there's a gazillion velociraptors. Come on. This story is already unrealistic but why drag it on? Why are there no significant deaths or decapitations? I was waiting and waiting but nothing. When it looks like Jeff Goldblum was gonna die a valiant death. Nope. He escapes again. The ending is the most disappointing of all. The dinosaurs walking alongside animals. Just silly. But I still had a good time watching it. Especially my 3-year-old's reactions.

Encanto
(2021)
Beautiful and unexpected

I was expecting just another regular animation that is amusing but not wow. Until I saw Encanto! I love the music, the storyline and the characters. I just wanted to keep on watching without getting bored for a second. I feel like adults can enjoy this movie just as much as kids do. My daughter isn't even 3 yet, and she sat mesmerized through the whole film.

Loved it!

Look, I'm a huge Emma Thompson fan. Every movie she plays in is magnificent. Dare to challenge me on that one. When I first heard that Emma Stone was going to play the lead with a British accent, I was like meh... But wow! She's awesome and so much fun to watch. This girl has talent! The plot of the movie is really good and unpredictable. Had to watch it twice. Just for those bitchy lines.
Five Feet Apart
(2019)
Too similar to The Fault in Our Stars
31 July 2019
It's a good movie but I feel like I've seen it before. There are too many similarities between Five Feet Apart and the Fault in Our Stars. Two teens dying from an illness and falling in love. Yeah, the endings are different but for goodness sake, it even had the same song from the Fault in Our Stars. That kind of ruined it for me.

Not a horror
28 July 2016
I find that the trailer is more promising and thrilling than the movie itself. It is not scary enough and I don't think it should be classified under the genre 'horror'. I enjoyed the flash-backs that builds the story line, but I think that the characters, especially the adult versions did not have strong enough personalities in comparison to their 'younger self' characters. If the movie had more of a psychological twist (which at times was present) without any supernatural phenomenon, it could have been more interesting. The supernatural did not have a strong enough force and thus there is a lack on both sides. Either scary ghosts and stuff or a psychological thriller. However, it is not a bad movie and I think young teens can watch it because it is not scary nor has inappropriate content.
