The Hammer (2023)

Love this-hope they make a series of it!
10 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Really enjoyed this film, great cast and loads of potential for a full series. Love the relationship between the sisters and the others in the town. I didn't guess the killer at all and I watch so many of these films so the twists were effective. I could see so many storylines every week If they made a series or two-these little towns have so many secrets and lies, Reba's character would have a great time investigating cases that look dodgy, because let's be honest, The police aren't up to much. The only thing I'd change is to bring in more characters on the police side and in the town, there needs to be more potential cases!

Call the Midwife: Christmas Special (2016)

Disappointing
4 February 2023
Usually I like when there's a special that takes a show out of the usual location but this was just a bit too much. I missed several characters from the overall series as they weren't included or have possibly left (I'm just catching up with the series so don't know who's coming or going yet!) but I also think that there wasn't enough for others who were in the show to do. And also the stories in the show weren't holding my attention as much as normal. All the Christmas specials are excellent up until this one and I hope that this is just a blip in an otherwise excellent show with amazing actors.

Too OTT for me but if you like bells and whistles, it'll be your thing!
3 December 2022
I'm so disappointed after waiting so long to see it. Every part is played to perfection, that's not the issue. I just think it was too much, and I should've expected that when I knew Baz Lurhman was directing, because that's his style, and I've hated every one of his films!

I am a massive Elvis fan and I know the stories, I just wanted them all to be wrapped up in one film with great actors who look vaguely like the real people. There's no need for the bells and whistles, but if you want extra, then you'll love it.

The main actor is great, he gave his all. He doesn't look like EP but they tried! Priscilla could've been anyone, there's no likeness whatsoever!

Col Tom is as gross as you will expect!

Oh and it was far too long!

Another 10
15 April 2021
Such a well written and acted show. It really did make me angry and scared at the same time. Mainly because I felt that if I was there I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from helping the family, but it seemed like it was so helpless. I don't understand racism, and I know certain areas of society haven't changed, but I would love to see those who are victims, turn it around just to see them being tortured too.

Something different
17 January 2021
I was hooked instantly. Its not like all the other reality shows, and the people in them are easy to dislike, because they're so rich, but they have their moments of TV gold.

I already love Anna, she has something that the others don't. Most of the the others are desperate for fame, but she doesn't give a toss, she's the real thing!

I just wish Anna and Kane would stop with the fillers! 🚫😊

The perfect cop show

Love this, I've been watching it over and over and I still find great bits that I've missed before. Josh Groban is so talented and perfectly cast, same with Tony Danza. A dream match. I don't know if there's ever going to be another series but if not then I want to see these 2 work together again, and again...

So upsetting but important to watch
20 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's hard to watch this documentary. I kind of wish that both twins lost their memory and managed to get on with their lives.

I do understand why there was no action taken, it's a decision that only the victim can make, but I believe that the parents should've hanged for their parts in the abuse. Just awful.

A hidden gem
30 November 2019
Found this in a dark corner of Sky Movies and was instantly hooked. Every performance is brilliantly played, every actor is comedy gold and the comic timing and acting is perfect. It's really amazing how these actors can looking like they are really these characters and they look like it's a normal conversation. I think the actors must surely be ad-libbing. If not, the writing is genius

Why have they cancelled this MASTERPIECE?
27 October 2019
There's so much rubbish out there and yet they keep cancelling fantastic shows, like this. I can't understand it. So disappointed.

Chrisley Knows Best (2014–2023)

It is what it is - light entertainment
21 July 2019
People are so nasty about this show but I don't get why. The homophobic comments are ridiculous, so what if he's camp - he embraces this and I think It's endearing. The family show a lot of love to each other, and Todd's obsessive way if parenting is really down to his own insecurities. He fears anything bad happening to them and that's not a bad thing.

The children all have their own personalities and some are more likeable than others, but when it comes down to it, their parents and Nanny Faye love them unconditionally and they know that.

The spin off wasn't great, mostly because Todd and Nanny Faye were hardly in it. Says it all really. I hope we get a few more seasons out if this show, if only to see how much more fillers and botox Savannah can take before she's completely unrecognisable...she's already gone too far, She can barely move her mouth now 😂😂😂

Like a working class Chrisley knows best
16 July 2019
I'm on ep3 and I really like this show so far. I loved Chrisley knows best but now they're too aware of the cameras and its full of product placements for their own products. I miss the old days of Todd and family but now we have Melissa and her crew. I hope there's another series on the way😁

Every show is a gem
8 June 2019
People seem to have turned on series 3 judging by the reviews which is unfortunate because I think it's top class drama with a slick of clever humour.

Michael Sheen is in the show to be a specific type of character, it's says do on the title in case people didn't understand. But if you're not interested in American politics then I can see why series 3 is not your thing. But I love it all and I like how they cleverly they use their storylines to inform the viewer about processes and policies. I often wonder if Trump has watched the show. He should be shaking in his boots.

Should've been given another series, at least

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this show. Every character was perfect and there were loads of laugh out loud moments. I don't know why they cut it but it really had so much potential, especially with another baby on the way.

Lots of potential
15 February 2019
Great cast, a potentially good storyline but the script was dire. I didn't enjoy it the first time but I kept thinking about it's good parts now and then so I watched it again and it grew on me. Note I've seen it 4 times and I do recommend giving it a go.

Such great potential, should've been kept on air
10 February 2019
I agree with the other poster who said that this show should've been on HBO so that it would've had more freedom. There's an edge to it,but you feel that just as a great line was going somewhere, there was an edit. Ken is brilliant as always and the son is tv gold, I hope we see them work together again soon, and for much longer.

Suspend your beliefs, enjoy the escapism!
23 January 2019
I never got into the original series but my mum did and we watch this one together...we both really like it. The negative reviews on here are really ridiculous, people need to move on and either watch it or switch off. The casting is great, I especially like Harry. All 3 witches are carving their characters out really well, and good for them. It's hard to follow such a strong cast and show, especially when their fans are so abusive!

Try to see past the negatives and suspend your beliefs for each show... There's far too much conflict in the world as it is, enjoy this little bit of escapism!
