Civil War (2024)

Bad, just bad

Guys, come on, this movie is bad! I expected a dense movie about a nation where political, ethical, or other differences lead to a social convulsion and then to war. It seems to me the author didn't do his homework about what this could be and made a shallow movie about a photographer and her uncertain feelings. So you have a couple of battles street gang style, shooting at each other at random places with no context. Could you imagine three reporters getting ahead inside the White House before the soldiers in the middle of a Civil War? Even then, just a couple of soldiers and not a whole battalion getting there to capture the "awful American president"? By the way, there is no explanation about the presidential misleads which led this wonderful nation to the so-called "Civil War".

Watching this new "Star Wars" series, made me miss any good TV series... I agree with all critics here. The acting is sad, there is no life in it, the actors stare at each other and speak without transmitting any reasonable emotion. Sabine Wren "war hero" is more to be a rebel dumb and reckless teenager than a supposedly someone who has done anything worthy of the "honorable title". Could you imagine a thousand years from now a grown responsible woman coloring her hair orange and purple and giving the "bad" guys an opportunity to start a War just because she miss her best male friend?? To me, it sounds so dumb I could not believe the writers could not come up with a better scene or an intelligent solution to the idea that they created themselves. That point of the series was enough for me. I´ve quit from it.

Flawed from the beginning

I don´t want to give spoilers (I hate it when someone does it), so let me try to speak metaphorically... From the beginning, if you are in a country that does not want you there, and if you profoundly want to leave this same country, why this government tries so hard to not let you go? They even create a militia and spend (probably) a lot of resources to just not let you get out of there. It just makes sense if we are talking about North Korea or Cuba, but there is no way to believe this could happen in a West European country. The movie starts with this idea, without any further explanation about how it happened. And so, you have to believe that a supposed Western European totalitarian government prefers to hunt down and kill little children and pregnant women than let them leave a country whose resources are too low (once again it´s not clear if is just food and water or something more). So, if this "idea" seems fine to you, go on and enjoy a movie with a lot of other flaws as described by others here on IMDB.

Really? I was expecting some nice "fights", some action, something new at least. What did I see? Terrible acting, a lot of cliches, and a boring, slow movie with a bunch of wannabe actors pretending to act seriously. It was one of the lousy movies I´ve seen in years. Probably the producers had some money on the side to spend or just throw it away and did it on this awful old script. I wonder why someone thinks once the movie argument was nice one time, they can repeat it indefinitely, and new viewers or old fans will watch it without any criticism. Hey, people evolve, generations change their customs and the old fans expect always improved news, even over old ideas.

Really? I don´t understand all the high ratings. It's not a art movie at all. It tries to be a little bit funny, but it's silly tries to make you think and then you expect some greatness... but nothing. The photography is great. It seems a commercial movie to make you want travel to France and it's all.

Don´t expect much of it. If you like some action and special effects go for it, but the acting is poor with a lot cliches and the script is awful.

I really don´t get what is the objective here. The show is totally silly, nonsense in front the nowadays minds. Maybe it would be great in the 50´s, but com on, not even a 5 year old child will find this interesting. If you are under 3 or over 80..go forward.

I really didn't like it. It's a total cliché and Megan Fox doesn't convince anyone playing a tough ex military. The special effects are really bad, it lose proportionality between the computer animals and the actors. By the way, the overall acting is really bad.

I confess...I´ve tried hard to understand the movie argument, the soul of it... Once I´m from the western part of the world and we grew up reading and watching movies about a guy from another planet that defies the physics flying without any kind of mechanical source, changing directions without "support". Another guy was bitten by a spider and ...well, everybody knows what happens and so on...But to understand "Godzilla" and his movie is beyond any kind of imagination...Can you imagine military officers following the orders of some scientists or his friends blindly? A world catastrophe without an "American President in charge" of the operation? Or a family drama overtaking a global disaster? Where did they decide to land a military aircraft in the middle of a "Monsters Fight" to search for their daughter instead of the world? Or, even a Japanese scientist taking over an American submarine to save the world? And a "bunch" of monsters supposedly with good and bad intentions about us? Really??

Greetings from Florianópolis, Brazil I do not know if Richard Dreyffus was invited to this movie, so his name would bring attention to it or he's in the final stages of his career ... The acting is bad, the story is silly or at least "cliche". The roll of the wolves and their "relationship" with the "main actress" (by the way_ Who is she again"?) is not clear at all, so why is she the "Daughter of the Wolf"? Don´t waste your time on it.

Sometimes we just want to watch a movie, have good laughs and don't take it seriously at all. That's what this movie it's all about. I spent a nice time with my wife, laughing without judging it. There is a lot of sexual references and malicious, so it doesn't fit for children or puritans.The characters and the history don't have anything to do with the TV series, after all, Poncherello is an undercover FBI agent and his partner is the "oldest" rookie of all times in the history of "California Highway Patrol". A biker, which his best days are over, including his marriage, but refuses to accept it and thinks the new job can bring his wife back, so he takes it as his last chance in life. Failure is not an option. To sit, enjoy and laugh.

Terrible acting and no directing at all. Don't waste your time. Complete nonsense. The argument seems so childish and misguided, I can't even imagine how someone could be convinced to waste money producing this show. There are so many clichés in the first episode, a lot of scenes without substance or any reason to be there. It looks like they had the "ideas" about scenes in mind and decided to put all them together anyway, even if it wasn't in a logical sequence. There is no emotion, action, suspense, love, or fun. I just kept myself watching, looking for something to happen and nothing came up. I really hated it. Pretty lousy.
