A really fun movie, wish it was available to purchase/stream!

I am a child of the 80's and we taped this movie off of TV when it aired. I watched it over and over - it was absolutely my favorite movie of my childhood. I recently came across a copy and got to watch it with my own kids. This is such a fun movie, I am really surprised Disney never released it to Disney+ or even to DVD.

Jason Star is one of Americas' best spies, but goes missing. His twin bother, Warren Starbender, is called upon to complete the mission. This movie is filled with the typical fish-out-of-water fun and has a great tounge-in-cheek humor to it. Obviously low budget and made for TV, but really fun nonetheless.

Enjoyable movie, but lacked a little in storytelling

My wife and I enjoyed this film quite a bit. We both love to cook and it was really fun to see the food-related storyline. I would recommend it as a pleasant way to spend an evening.

So why only 6 stars? My biggest issue with this film is that it didn't really carry through a good story arc. Writing 101 tells you to have a main character, define a goal, and then have that character either achieve or fail to achieve his goal. Well, there was definitely a main character, but in my opinion there was no defined goal. This was disappointing because I never felt like I was rooting for something to happen ... just when I got into a conflict, it was suddenly resolved and now we move to another conflict, which is then resolved. Because of this the story felt disjointed and more like reading a Wikipedia article than getting engaged in a good story. I wish the filmmakers spent a little bit more time designing the actual goal for the film and carried it through to the end.

If you can get beyond that and watch it as more of a series of short films, it is a very refreshing movie with its lack of language, violence, and sex, and is set in a beautiful area with very pleasant cinematography.
