Greenland (2020)
Hot cookie cutter garbage.
I felt like I could guess every twist and turn. Typical formula based action movie. Some things make no sense. If you're bored and want to watch uninteresting characters, and explosions, then go for it.
Mulan (2020)
Why is everyone upset, Great Movie!
This was fantastic. Right after I watched it, I came over to IMDb to see reviews and couldn't believe some of these reviews. One of my favorite recent Disney movies behind the first malevolent. Oh well, to each their own.
The Outpost (2019)
Need more movies like this
It's great to watch a movie without an liberal agenda. This is an American film about Americans. God bless those soldiers. Clint Eastwood's son is really interesting to watch. He looks just like his old man. Well worth the time.
In Fabric (2018)
Discombobulated pretentious dung
Garbage. No resolution to any of the half baked stories. Made by someone who thinks they are smart, but can't resolve one single idea, so they rely on abstract imagery and label the film horror / comedy in hopes something will stick. Pathetic.
The Report (2019)
Boring and after the fact outrage
Who cares? Tell us something we don't know. Remember people jumping from the world trade centers. I do. This is just another ranting movie whining about injustice. Hey guess what, injustice exists in the world. Our intelligence agencies did what they thought was right at the time. We have remained safe. Go move to a perfect and just country. Oh that's right there isn't one. On a positive note, the acting was good for a standing on a pedestal and giving speeches movie.
Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich (2020)
The victims of Jeffery Epstein
Very brave women Fighting for justice.
JE got away with these activities for decades. Makes you wonder. Sweetheart government deal? How? I believe that he was a ring leader who trafficked young girls to rich and powerful men. Men that JE knew would provide him a level of immunity for fear that these men might be exposed. I'm sure JE was compensated and that compensation contributed to his wealth.
This documentary probably could have run for 90 minutes. Too much redundancy not enough substance.
The Assistant (2019)
Interesting film, but.. what?
This movie kept me intrigued. I rarely paused it and thought it was shot beautifully, especially considering the setting. The actress nailed it. Great charisma. Honestly, I could have kept watching for another hour, but what? Huh?
Proximity (2020)
Interesting start.
It didn't take long for this movie to fall apart. This is a perfect example of a writer with a novel idea that just gives up on being creative and goes straight to cliques and over the top rubbish. Casting was mediocre. Writing, again was lazy and dumb. Soundtracks was ok. I wonder to myself, who funds this stuff. There must really be an appetite for content, because scripts like this belong in a trash bin.
Underwater (2020)
Boring
Uninteresting characters, drab dark environment. Predictable. Just rubbish. Don't pay to see this
The Lighthouse (2019)
Who makes this rubbish
What statement was this film trying to make? Literally pointless. These kind of films are made by people who like to play with cameras because they definitely don't have the ability to tell a cohesive story. The acting was exceptional and direction was good, but it doesn't mean anything if there is no substance behind the film.
Messiah (2020)
Amazing!
The worst thing about this series, is that it ended.
Dracula (2020)
Entertaining
Love the lead actor. I don't know why everyone is hating on this. Come on people, this is a solid 7. Would have been higher if the ending was more cohesive. I don't want to see the same Dracula story. This was a fun little series. The writing was great. Compared to other shows on Netflix this is above average. Plus it's only 3 episodes.
Lost in Space (2018)
First season ok, second?
Production and set design, even the casting is great, top notch. The writing on the other hand is pretty bad. Cookie cutter TV writing. 9 to 5 writers that just spew conflict lines that add nothing and rarely builds suspense. Zero creativity. Lame. Character development, blah. Could have been great.
The Witcher (2019)
Near perfect
The casting and acting are superb. What a wonderful series. It takes you into the Witcher universe and I really wish it didn't end.
I would have given it a 10,but the editing of the time line was a bit choppy on a few occasions., still, in the end, I really liked how it all came together.
This is the first season and I'm sure it is going to get better. This could very well be game of thrones successor. Super excited for the next season.
Killers Anonymous (2019)
Sad attempt at genre
Who ever made this should be ashamed of themselves. Pure fail. Writing was terrible, editing terrible, story nonsensical. Fake reviews are out in force for this one to 6.0. Joke.
Crawl (2019)
So boring and dumb
I can only imagine how this movie was pitched. 'oh I got this idea about being trapped in a basement during a hurricane, but guess what.. There are crocodiles down there too.' it's brilliant, right?
Good lord. This is boring rediculous trash. The filmmakers go out of their way to waste your time. Just grabbing a walkie talky out of the water will cost you two minutes. You are literally watching nothing happen besides people splashing around in the water.
There are a lot of bogus reviews on this site, but one way I curb this is to look at top 1000 reviewer reviews in the review detail section. If it's in the upper 5s I'll trust the review. Apparently some people actually liked this movie. I don't know why, perhaps alligators are scary.
So bad...
47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019)
Hard to keep watching.
While watching I was hoping everyone would die. That should tell you something.
The movie has some superb creepy sound effects. Attractive actors, but I couldn't wait until it was over.
The Nightingale (2018)
Powerful
The lead actress was amazing. This is a movie you do not want to miss. It might be disturbing for some. I wish there were more films like this. It grips you from beginning to end.
Ophelia (2018)
Uhh... nice try
This was a mess of of movie. A series might have done the story justice. I really thought it would have been better. I don't see how the current rating is justified.
Submission (2019)
Low quality, bad casting
This is one of those movies that are honest up front. Right from the beginning, it's telling you, I'm going to be terrible, and I am going to waste your time.
Thank you for that. How do these movies get produced? There must be such a content demand that people are financing anything and anyone. Plz stop
The I-Land (2019)
Student film project?
I'm going to be honest, the only reason I kept watching is because the main actress is very attractive.
First, the writing is bottom tier. You will be hard pressed to find similar atrocities of dialog, especially for a series that spans 7 episodes and is branded by the Netflix logo.
On a positive note, there were about three episodes that were decent and that's why I gave it a rating of 4 stars.
this is like watching a wreck on the side of the road. It's a disaster. I can't belive Netflix said this is ok. They must be hurting for content.
Quién te cantará (2018)
Fantastic
This is a character driven movie. For those wondering what it all means, you can find the answers in the characters. Do you see the contrast between Lila and Violetta? Their contrasting stories and history. The mother daughter relationships? Before Violetta met met Bianca, she had already made her desicion to make her way into the ocean. Do we think Lila really forgot everything? Maybe, maybe not.
The acting was superb. The writing was absolutely amazing. This is deep cinema that you don't find very often.
Carlos Vermut wrote and directed. I want to see more from this guy.
Eli (2019)
Meandering
Good quality production. The actors did a great job, especially the kid who plays eli. The premise is interesting.
The problem is the pacing. It meanders to the point that its boring. I had to force myself to keep watching. This is the kind of script some yahoo wrote that had no idea where it was going, and in the end was like... Yeah that works.
It would have been a better movie if it was a short introduction to the events that started in the last 15 min. You can cut out about 30+ minutes and be fine. That's how much filler this pile has.
The King (2019)
It's hard to find a fault
This was epic. The acting was amazing. Near perfect writing. The actor who played Henry (Timothee C) should be a big star. Great presence. Take the time to watch this. I'm glad I did. High quality stuff.
Mermaid Down (2019)
Oh wow!
The only good thing about this movie is a hot mermaid, otherwise this is just silly and stupid. Trust the reviews on this one.
