The Last Resort (2018)
South Beach before it was SOUTH BEACH!
This movie is a loving tribute to the area of Miami Beach south of Lincoln Road before it was the now famous South Beach and Ocean Drive.
It will be of special interest to those who remember that era and the very special people who lived there. It is lovingly captured through the camera lense of the 'home-boys' Andy Sweet and Gary Munroe and the family and friends of Andy. Although it will be most appreciated by those who remember those years, it should be interesting as a history lesson to those who visit Miami Beach now.
Skin (2018)
Can't rate this...
This film is such a contradiction! On paper a perfect family....a hands-on, caring father, a loving mother to her son and her husband, a smart, good-looking kid who adores his family BUT.....OMG.... This is the epitome of a true horror story and it's happening too often! I hated this movie because of what it represented but give it accolades because it was so well done. Likability a 1 rating...exceptionalism a 10 rating.
Capharnaüm (2018)
I'm speechless...WOW!!
There are no adequate words to describe the mesmerizing intensity of this magnificent film!
The Favourite (2018)
Wonderful acting in a terrible movie!
Not even the terrific acting of the three main character actresses could save this film! The sets and scenery were beautiful as was the background music. However, all this and a few naughty snickers could not save this movie from being boring and pretentious!
Beautiful Boy (2018)
Hard to forget this excellent movie!
This movie is very difficult to sit through.....that is the reason it is so superb! You can feel an inkling of how difficult this story would be to LIVE through. ...due to the superb acting and overall pace. I can't stop thinking about all these 'beautiful' people in this very heart wrenching situation..
Tully (2018)
Only this high because of Charlize Theron's acting
I will 'ditto' the review titled "Strange and Unexpected"of May 4,2018. Early in the movie I was impressed with Theron's sympathy invoking portrayal of Marlo, especially with her handling of the situation with her son, amidst her overwhelming (and tiring) home life. However, the relationship with Tully initially held my attention, as it kept me guessing. As this relationship moved on, it caused my '8' review number to drop rapidly. By the end of this movie, my impression of the movie totally crashed!!!!
