No understand low rating?

Warning: Spoilers
Take all the terrorist stuff out and you'd still have a pretty good story of a recovering junkie prositute showing effects of poison and it's removal throughout the narrative via close up shots of Blake Lively's face. Moaning about close ups is lazy criticism as, Hollywood has been doing either the close up or night placement to simplify the scene for ever, but I never felt that the actors location was in doubt and indeed I could never tire of looking at Lively on screen. She has an ability to be genderless and yet still interesting.

The sloppy fight scenes such as the one on the bus suggested such fights in real life are not beautiful and are nothing more than scraps with the film crew showing their take on such events... a sort of anti-James Bond, or should I say Jane Bond.

Really like this film multiple story lines, 3 years of drug addict prositute back story is going to teach any woman servival skills perhaps without her even realising it.

Great story but bad acting.
3 October 2022
A mean thing to say but a story is hard to follow when acting is like this.

Would have preferred domestic abuse girl to have gotten her own back with a cricket bat, but that's just me.

The pride of having completed a feature film trumps all else, I'm sure if more money was available the actors could of been um professional but as already stated great story,

I see some of myself in the characters...perhaps we are all but actors in our 20s and it takes time to come to terms with the act of our lives and to settle upon the fixation that will be the rest of it?

600 characters used and no more.

Bad on so many levels. The sex scenes are simi-funny but 25 mins in I looked at time remaining and I felt like crying.

Jessica Alba is a light for any film, but surely she can do better than this out dated garbage.

It's not a film it's a music video with a beginning, middle (actual music,) and an end. Really enjoyed the ride thanks. Title bit confusing had a note book handy to take notes, but nope.

Pretty solid 5 stars

Warning: Spoilers
Far too many characters, and incomplete story lines! Would have preferred perhaps, one of the best friends be a single dad type who eventually ends up in the final 'in bed scene'. Which as is, is a really weird scene missing emotional connection of any type. Maybe the point? Dope smoker sits on the bed edge, over thinking & questions her luck, finding a partner with money rather than chiseling something out of wood again??

Really enjoy Keener and her incredible smile.

Not "Dancer in the Dark" depressing...

...But still along way to go! Would like to see many more years of this series and perhaps have its plot progressively expand to older perhaps early 20's hybrid characters?

The story is difficult to follow currently but so many floors in story are due to there being a great many leaders to progress among a single story line.

Should-a-could-a been a series of films.

I'm tired of reviewers giving low scores because film isn't like the book, the myth, or the country it's set in.!!! This type of story gives continuity and a future to the KA brand. But I really don't understand how the same money people can green light and release a remade Conan cock up but not make this in to a series.

It's a great idea and Zombies cool! Love all the film references, and acting is excellent I really like all the characters but the morgue/cop connection is sloppy. (See 'Lucifer' club owner as consultant to the police.)

Murder happens, the zombie eats a meal has some visions case solved. It's just to repetitive for its own good and the bigger story good zombie capitalist zombie doesn't get enough coverage.

Still a solid film 30 years later.

Fun movie car chases, & dog work done well. Some may mark down due to incorrect dog training or 'how dogs do it' but a sense of humor still funny 30 years on come on.

If you want to know anything about K-9 training look for the words 'positive reinforcement'.

Fell asleep half way through, seems like a mash of a whole lot of WW movies as most of the characters are lame due to lack of depth.

It's a sci-fi/comedy? Nothing wrong with it. Love the leads, don"t get the low rating.

Odin gets beaten up? It's ok his teenage son is there to save him... Story is the point of film but this story is rubbish.

Probably not a film for older folks.

Excellent
25 April 2020
Denzel Washington played a burnt out and guilt riddled CIA operative in Man on Fire. Set in India/Bangladesh rather than Mexico this film is rather similar. A young boy in need of a guardian to survive and a guardian in need of a young boy as a means to forgive himself... it's a simple story line so the action can be the star.

Most enjoyable film.

Define good

As for the haters most of them have read the books. Why on earth would director and producer want to recreate the book verbatim, film is a different medium genius' so follows its own path created through budget, tech support and a nightmare of other logistics. What is presented as a sequence of moving images is in a novel as word, sentence, paragraph & character making the book a far better medium.

What Peter Jackson did to Gandalf in the Lord of The Rings for the most part is turn him in to a priest... But the character was still strong, and ..."You shall not pass"... is a line that is as strong as any from the last 100 years.

I gave this film an 8 because the writers did a great job of turning a no doubt, difficult story in to a ratable & fun watch . I Want to see another episode.

Always be an audience for it but,it's action film by numbers. Cars, bullets sun & tourism.

Camera follows stolen kiss, & loyalty tested but another painful fall or more likely choreographed roll is proof again that without doubt good guys win and bad guys lose.

Great mashup
20 April 2020
Really good mix up, the story is a fusion of teenage love, neo-sci-fi, and action. Lost amongst it and I knew they were coming, the films credits surprised & saddened me. So looking forward to further development of the characters.

Would liked to have seen the insect fight sequence either slowed or shown from a distance!h

Film tells a nonexistent story, characters lack likability as they here & gone type. Was the end cave sequence a Viking version rip directly out of Apocalypse Now.

This is another forgettable NZ Netflix movie.

Warning: Spoilers
First half eye candy must of killed the budget, the end had a couple great shots photo wise but the so called god killer weapon was wasted opportunity.

Big explosions, then nothing, big explosion, then nothing again, then... suspect movie not concerned about rating but unforgettable this is not.

Could of been better
11 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Paul Newman tribute amongst end credits explained point of film but If the message is let children be happy carefree selves, if only momentarily and in the worst of circumstances then the obvious fairytale end is stupid. As it makes survival not happiness the point of the show.

The story is the fail! A healer needn't be so obvious and makes me think movie demographic is for children not parents of children with illness.

My rating is generous as could of been far better, reference (1991) Thelma & Louise but from the state trooper's perspective.

It's a tragedy that it's female roles are played by women wanting to escape a factory life, via uniform tails! What are the odds of Mayo even seeing a jets cockpit? Considering the amount of hassles he had simply making the first step towards the goal.

Rating remains the same as ideals of the Victorian era should not be criticized by 21st century thoughts. What year did this film come out... 1982! Gez .

Suspect end was having a go at a following season but apparently not? As would have liked the father to have survived and joined gathering? Far from perfect but enjoyable.

Calling it great because it's so bad is unwarranted as it has glimpses of good but no submarine. Story is all over the place, time lines jumpy and hard to keep up with, characters are who, ah what...
