Unfunny,Uncomfortable,Unbelievably Unfunny Utter WASTE!

I can't believe garbage like this is still seeping out of Hollywood. It's 2012....act like it movie makers! We see you,we know who you are and we're not likely to forget the anguish you've inflicted!

This is a movie about two men that are uncomfortable insecure and unfunny and it lasts for over six hours,that's counting some recovery time. Why can't Hollywood directors find a test audience that isn't packed with immature fame worshipers so they can learn the truth about their "work" before they release it on the innocent public?

Michael Vartan does a senseless and desperate pasty naked ass scene at the end of this torture.(need I say more)Why bother,why! It's so obviously desperate and contrived you just want it to be over. Who ever thought this painful scene up should be forced to watch old Alf shows for a week.

I have to blame the director for this utter waste because all of the actors were equally self conscious and terrible,but the director actually directed them to say their awful lines with those stupid looks on their faces. One painful scene after another with good actors doing unbelievably terrible acting,I couldn't believe my eyes. What a waste!

I don't think I can adequately put into words how enjoyable this movie was but I'll try because it's really worth your time and I want you to give it a try. This movie was a pleasant surprise. Within a few minutes of watching I realized I'd happened upon a gem. This movie is about Lucky Kunene, a smart young man who is so fun to watch as he figures out how to be a success in spite of being born in a dangerously stupid environment.

I did not expect to enjoy watching a story that includes South African apartheid, but fortunately this movie entertains us with the characters story and doesn't weigh us down with the tragedy of racism and poverty.The main character Lucky is poor and smart and that's always an interesting mix. He is portrayed by actors who are so talented that we're spoiled as an audience. Jafta Mambolo is young Kunene and Rapulana Seiphemo plays the adult Lucky Kuene and they both are effortless.

I really liked the way this movie moved quickly and yet spared nothing.I came away from this movie wanting to see more Soweto adventures because I knew there must be one,so I watched it twice.

Edmond (2005)

In all honesty! This movie made me physically and mentally ill. Macy the milquetoast-Meister will rise above this bulls**t and do better things because = There Is No Downhill From Here.

The stingy whore mongering character of this queasy repetitive storyline was unbelievably moronic. I can't believe people still make these low grade depressing pieces of worthless garbage.

I foolishly watched this whole movie.

Where's ACCEPTED when you need it??

All of these talented people luring you into believing something worthwhile is coming---I don't know who's the bigger sucker the paying audience or the people who put their names on this filth.

When I find my spiritual self (who's now hiding from me in a recovery house)I'm gonna hunt this Mamet fella down and kick him in the ding dong!

Clean and jerk this ugly movie to the trash.

Finally a movie I can suggest a family member pay to see on the "Bigscreen".Not since Kiss,Kiss,Bang,Bang have I been able to do that.This is a good movie for anyone that likes mystery hit-man movies with mood swings.There's some violence but not the nasty stuff and brief nudity, but not the nasty stuff.Even if you figure this out early ,you won't mind cause there's still a lot going on thats very well done and keeps your interest. Bruce Willis is such a cool hit-man in this you might find yourself thinking "didnt I see this cat play tenor sax in that joint"... Okay Maybe I stretched that one but that's because I forgot Bruce can do cool really well.I'll bet he practices this stuff because he's got it down. Pretty boy "Joshee-poo" Hartnett finally put on his "I can do good movies too" outfit and held his own amongst pros, imagine that.Lucy Liu is not her usual Asian Fighter Bitch...Thank God. Frankly you wont recognize her in a normal part, it's so refreshing. I can honestly say I have never liked a single performance of hers until this. Ben Kingsley again with the seething heat..he just rocks.Morgan Freeman gives a good performance,no surprises.I could watch this again right now and still enjoy it,you'll like it too. Give it a try.

The Skeleton Key (2005)

I liked this movie. It was fun. I usually don't find many thrillers that I can get into anymore because they're just not made well enough,but this one was not overbearing and hit all the right clues at the right time.I did'nt want to figure this movie out ahead of time cause I enjoyed watching it, which really surprised me since Kate Hudson starred in it and I've only seen her in really silly stuff I half watched before. I think Kate was really good in this movie(I never thought I'd be saying that since I usually don't pay attention to her movies much.Kate really carried this whole movie herself though,no silliness,screechy screams unnecessary characters,over expressions,trick endings or the usual crap they put in thrillers these days.The story is not completely unique but you won't care cause its done better here than on TV shows or anywhere else.I like that there was no gore in this film -it didn't need it.

Must Love Dogs (2005)

Not enough John Cusack , no laughs and definitely no romance

This movie is not a romantic comedy . In fact it's not much of a comedy either. The story was okay for a TV Sunday afternoon movie left on while you read the newspaper. I only watched it because I like John Cusack and Diane Lane,the whole cast actually. And I still do... just not as much anymore cause now I've seen them with they're acting skills down and you know that's always embarrassing. This could have been so much more if only it had a real story but Diane and John had no chemistry together. John only had about 3 or 4 scenes and they were so short and unmentionable...I kept waiting for the romantic story between them and it just never happened.I wouldn't suggest anyone even rent this mishap let alone go to the theater for it.

Hustle & Flow (2005)

This movie was a lot better than I expected, and I expected something decent -in spite of the usual rave reviews that everything gets these days.I was really smacked upside the head by this one because it was unique with the casting and the underlying tension in the story. This is not that boring ass 8 mile crap,and if your afraid of hearing the "N" word then just don't go to see this movie. This story is painfully easy to relate to because it's about struggling to achieve a blurred dream and convincing yourself that "it ain't over for you" as one of the songs say.Most people can relate to this unless they've already given up.The casting has a natural racial mix that really really felt good. Too bad Spielberg and Scorsese can't cast like this. The raps were hard and good ...they were actually a member of the cast and a real pleasure.Whether you like rap or not you'll enjoy the honesty of it. Terrence owned this role while not over acting it,like so many actors do lately.I'll buy this soundtrack even though I'll have to use earphones on it because it's pretty raw.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

I loved this movie in spite of Brad & Angelina

Mr. and Mrs. Smith fortunately has the same director as Bourne Identity(my favorite action flick)and his brilliance shines through in every scene. I've seen a few Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie movies before and frankly I never thought too much of their characters or talent.But in this movie whether they have real acting talent or not you don't notice cause you're too busy enjoying the movie with them being very good in it.The "Express Yourself" fight scene is one that is one in a million and even if you don't like action movies you'll recognize fast cool here as only this director can create.I've seen this movie 3 times now, mostly because I missed what they were saying at times but really because it was much better than the other stuff out there.The dialogue is to be commended for lack of stupidity,it was fast paced and very funny and clever.I still don't give a flying **** about Brad and Angelina but I will be buying the DVD when it comes out.

Poor Vicious Racist Los Angeles

There are no gushy heartfelt moments in this movie which really works for me cause I'm sick of crappy Hollywood feely feely flicks. I've lived in Los Angeles for most of my life so I might relate too much to this movie ...there's no way for me to know. There are a lot of good actors in Hollywood these days and there was no shortage of them in this movie.Even bad actors looked good in this movie because the dialog is present. Racism is the disease of the day in this movie and it's not cured in two hours with the high school marching band ending as is usually the case.Sometimes I feel and say uncomfortable racist things too often,then I feel bad and try the next day to be a better person.But it seems every time I drive down Ventura Blvd.and get cut off and sneered at that I'm right back at prayer one.I guess thats why I liked this movie!

Guess Who (2005)

This is a good comedy that is not overwhelmed by its main subject .

Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher are teamed perfectly for this film because they are fun to watch together.The story keeps moving along at a good pace and doesn't do the usual joke setups that we have to suffer through so much in comedies lately.The dialog is well written for all of the characters-not just the leads.Whoever cast this movie did a good job because everyone was of good quality and fit perfectly. I was happy to see that interracial relationships were dealt with candidly but not with the usual tasteless one liners.It's so hard to find a good comedy lately , I mean one you actually laugh at. I liked this movie , it's a good comedy, I laughed a lot.

What is all the fuss about, this is a boring movie and just goes to show you can't trust the academy awards opinion on very much of anything anymore. They just didn't have much to choose from this year so they nominated this movie as filler.They probably figured any indie will do in a pinch. But I warn you all , this is a TV movie in subject matter and the acting is less than mediocre.Taking a vacation to the wine country is boring. It's even more boring when you watch other people doing it. The menagerie of actors involved is annoying,it's just difficult to believe that these people would ever befriend each other in real life.

The Village was better than this sappy nonsense.

Million Dollar Baby (2004)

This Ain't No Dike Boxer Flick--This Is Really Good

I'm a little prejudiced because I enjoy watching Eastwood,Freeman, Swank,and Eastwood and Eastwood and Eastwood....but watching them all "enteract" together is an intense treat.Unlike other movies based on a boxer or athletic woman, Swank does'nt suddenly change into some tough jock-itching butchy bruiser.In other words shes "femtuff", only Matt Damon has a smile as honest as hers.She's so unassuming and easy to watch you forget she's acting. Freeman and Eastwood are effortless--just so enjoyable to watch you just can't get enough of them. The dialog is refreshing and solid scene to scene with no meaningless lengthy up-close nostril shots.The direction is not blatant but instead its seamless and hidden in full view.This is one of those rare movies that comes along that I want to buy not just rent.

Surviving Christmas (2004)

Much funnier than expected

Why on earth was this movie released for Halloween. It's a Christmas comedy...it really is very funny. I usually never truly laugh out loud at comedies but this movie ,especially the first half is really laugh out loud funny. And not just once either.

Ben Affleck can do comedy contrary to what many critics have written.The second half of the movie could have used a little more work but all in all its definitely worth trying. Considering that most of the movies passing for comedies these days are nothing more than filmed juvenile bathroom humour, this was a pleasant break from the Hollywood norm.

Mystic River (2003)

Finally A REAL Movie

Clint Eastwood really yanked the best out of all of these actors. Sean Penn has finally come of age,with a burn like scotch not wine. Clearly Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon just needed juicy characters to chomp on because they're unrecognizable in this film...the best they've been in years.Laurence Fishburne can actually act without sunglasses on and he's tastefully understated.The womens characters played by Marcia Gay Harden and Laura Linney are powerful and sneak up on you, but the story does too, which again speaks to Eastwoods abilities.If your sick of those silly juvenile joke flicks you'll really like this story movie.
