Brother's Keeper (2002 TV Movie)
10/10
Great movie.
23 January 2005
It had twists, it had lead characters that weren't perfect, and it had moments of suspense and mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I watched the copy I have at least twenty times, which is a record for me. I loved the riddles that were dispersed throughout, and I found the characters of Lucinda and Ellis Pond to be well-rounded and excellently portrayed. It makes you think, which is more than a lot of people expect from a movie without theatrical release. And for once, the evil bad guy isn't one to make gaping mistakes. Intriguing plot twists, action sequences, and flashbacks help the story along throughout, not that it needs the assistance.

MacGyver (1985–1992)
Greatest show of all time!
23 January 2005
This show was excellently written and cast. Richard Dean Anderson was by far the best person for this role and he brought the character the attitude and look that added to his "no drinks, drugs, or guns" outlook that was inspirational and enjoyable for all ages. It'd be refreshing to see another show like this come along, but I don't believe it will.

MacGyver focused on the incurable do-gooder who couldn't say no to someone in trouble, and he always had a scientifically sound, absolutely brilliant solution. He was always as optimistic as possible, and he wasn't one to immediately jump in bed as is the norm for most television. His compadres always added to the action/adventure/comedy, and throughout the season you learn new things about the characters that add so much more depth to the story.

Quirky, smart, clean, nostalgic and full of age-less values... (the mullet and leather jacket didn't hurt either) MacGyver will be around forever, and well it should be.

MacGyver: Pilot (1985)
Season 1, Episode 1
Unbeatable!
22 May 2004
MacGyver is the greatest series I have yet to see. The fact that it features someone with morals and who's always willing to help is very refreshing.

I first saw MacGyver a few years ago when I was watching Stargate and my father said, "What are you watching that old MacGyver for?" Well, I had to go look. MacGyver started before I was born, so naturally I missed the first run. But I liked Richard Dean Anderson in Stargate, so I went and looked. Once I started watching MacGyver, I never went back.

There was action, but no guns. A cast of male characters, and no idiocy or sex. It was mind-blowing. Morals, looks, brains, kindness and humour, all in one. The man got shot up, blown up and beat up, and yet never blamed anyone for it. Heck, he'd try to help the one who did it to him, because he could see that something was wrong. If only they still made TV like this. I must admit though, that the original seasons were a lot more amusing in general than the later ones, but I'll watch any episode more than once. :-))
