Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977)
This bothered me right from the start
This isn't a review of the whole show, though it's clear they didn't put a lot of effort into it.
One thing that really bugs me about this right away is that in the credits, Carolyn Jones is called the "special guest star."
She was Morticia. She's not a special guest star. She's a member of the cast. I haven't checked any of the Gilligan's Island made for TV movies lately, but if I saw the woman who played Mrs. Howell listed as a "special guest star" it would bug me.
Or Samantha's mother on Bewitched. I thought she was great. But not enough that you'd put her on her own level above the rest of the actors from the show.
Just my two cents.
Camp Death III in 2D! (2018)
I gave this movie a 10 so people would read my review and learn how bad the movie is.
People either already know that the ratings on pages like this are bullcrap, or they are unwilling to know it.
The person who wrote the review about how giving virtually ANY movie a 10 star review is disingenuous was spot-on.
I tried to watch this movie, and failed. I have seen a LOT of movies in my time. I've sat through a lot of bad movies. I'm a big fan of Rifftrax / MST3K.
This movie is nowhere nearly as good as the "bad on purpose" movies you find these days.
The idea that a single person would be able to give this movie a 10 star review after seeing it is insane.
It's not a parody so much as a violent middle finger to horror movies. It is to parody movies what OJ Simpson is to football.
And, out of all the other terrible things about it, the ending doesn't even parody Friday the 13th. It parodies Seven. Which is somehow, even worse. It couldn't even stay loyal to its terrible concept.
Like if The Joker went on a violent killing spree, and at the end, when confronting Batman for what may be the last time, he decides to fight him with riddles and a coin toss. I mean, dude.
If you haven't seen this movie, which is pretty likely, don't. Be thankful that you don't live in one of the two dimensions this movie was presented in.
And stop giving movies 1 and 10 star reviews on a whim. That last animated Batman movie had a TON of 10 star reviews even before it leaked to the pirates, so I KNOW those people didn't see it. One review, the guy even said he hated the movie (this is the one where he went back in time to feudal Japan, it was terrible) but he gave it like a 7 or 8 JUST because Batman was in it.
They should make it cost you like a quarter do put in a review. I feel like a quarter is enough money that the trolls wouldn't bother.
Make it a dollar, and donate the money to helping freedom of speech cases. Be pretty hard to complain about that.
My two cents.
Black Bart (1975)
It's all in how you look at it
Okay, I just now finished watching the "Black Bart" pilot for the first time, from the "Blazing Saddles" DVD, and came online to see if IMDb had anything interesting to say about it. I was shocked and amazed to find such a mean comment about the pilot, but I certainly think everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I just hope that people will give this a proper viewing, because I quite enjoyed it. The humor's there, even if it's not in the same style as the movie. The reason for this is most likely because Mel Brooks didn't have anything to do with it. I still enjoyed it quite a bit, and am now all psyched to watch "Blazing Saddles", which I haven't seen in awhile. I think the reason this didn't get a season-full of episodes is that it's mighty risqué for 1970's TV. I mean, they use the "N-word" frequently, and make constant sexual references concerning the saloon-hostess. It would probably do a lot better now, in a world full of viewers sick with reality TV... Just another opinion...
Harsh Realm (1999)
I posted this same review for the Behind the Scenes documentary, so forgive me if you accidentally read it twice...
Okay, let me start off by saying I'd never heard of Harsh Realm. 1999 was a busy year for me, and when I heard the words "From the creator of the X-Files..." I didn't get to the end of any of the ads before I turned the channel. I never liked the X-Files, and for no particularly good reason. I might never have heard of Harsh Realm, but I work at Wal-Mart, and they got some DVD series in for fifteen bucks, and I thought "Hmmmm." I picked up Dark Angel first, another series I'd never heard of, then, the next week, I gave Harsh Realm a try. I enjoyed all 9 episodes very much, and I enjoyed the special feature's look behind the scenes. It was well put-together, and they didn't spend the whole time yelling about how they were never given a chance and all that, as some people like to do in their commentaries. I only wish the show had had a definitive ending, and, of course, that I had watched episode nine before episode eight, as I was instructed to do. I'm not going to say anything to spoil it, just that if you pick up the DVDs for yourself, you should watch nine, then eight, it gives it more of an "ending" feel, if only slightly....
Inside 'Harsh Realm' (2004)
I enjoy being surprised at the quality of this program...

The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Thank the Gods they pulled it off (Barely)
Okay, this is my first review for IMDB, so you're going to have to forgive me. I went to see Matrix Revolutions yesterday (I waited till it was actually out in theatres...) and I wanted to write as soon as I got home. I really hated the second movie's plot. I was hoping for an action movie and I didn't get it. The third movie is also not an action movie, so if you're go there to see a whole lot of fights and things blowing up, you're going to walk away disappointed. But, I rated it a seven out of ten because this movie has so much more in it than just action. Sure, the plot's a little bit hard to follow if you're a complete idiot, but I'm not, so that wasn't really a problem. The swarm-like entity near the end was awesome, in my oppinion.
I wish there had been a few more fights, sure, but the fights they did have were pretty good. I'm hoping that the DVD shows Trinity, Morphius and Sereph having to fight their way out of the Frenchman's club, it seemed to end far too quickly for my tastes. I guess it's cuz I'm a DM.. But, on the whole, I think everyone who saw the first two is going to HAVE to see this one, just because it's a trilogy. I think that it's worth the money I paid for it, but it's NO "Return of the Jedi". So, for those of you that didn't go see it the first day (if there are any of you), you should go see it, but just don't have your expectations so high that they cannot be reached. There are two scenes that drag on a bit, especially one where Trinity trys to express herself to Neo right before his final confrontation, but though they do take away from the movie, the special effects bring enough to the table that they can be forgiven...eventually. I hope this isn't over a thousand words yet. I've never been good at limiting myself to anything... Walk in Light, peeps... JM
