Birds of Prey (2020)

Go Watch It
8 February 2020
I had low expectations going into this movie but I really enjoyed it. I thought it would be all men trashing and girl power. It wasn't. It was enjoyable and I loved the fight scenes. The main antagonist was a little lacking towards the end but I felt McGregor really enjoyed creating his character. So, if you are looking for an entertaining action movie with typical Harley humor give it a shot.

I just finished watching Stuber and my throat is sore from laughing so hard. It was an entertaining movie with plenty of good laughs.

What a Horrible Movie
25 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
First of all this rant is going to be filled with SPOILERS so now you are warned.

Where do I begin? Do I start with how the antagonists all have magic bullets and the secret service agents don't or that the good guys are too stupid to seek cover when being fired upon. Maybe I should start with the plane that decimates DC and how it wasn't even questioned on the radio till it was flying over DC. Or maybe how Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is giving information to Speaker Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) and says that were forty terrorists and now they are down to twenty-eight. Seriously, I think Banning killed over six so out of all the other agents they killed the other half.

My biggest angst is that Kang (Rick Yune) is torturing people for some codes and the President (Aaron Eckhart) keeps saying "Give him the code he will never get mine." and when it finally comes to the point in the movie where Kang needs his code it is ALREADY in the computer. What happened? How did Kang get his code?

Also, the fact that they gave into the terrorist demands over the life of the President is hysterical especially when they bring up the phrase "We do not negotiate with terrorists.".

Overall, I thought this movie should have been renamed a comedy because I have never laughed so hard at all the ridiculous inaccuracies and weak story line.

Glad I Didn't Pay Money to Watch This
19 December 2012
Last night I got the chance to watch the sneak peek of this movie and couldn't wait till it was over with.

First, lets get to some things that I did like about this movie and one of those is the set designs. The scale and detail of some of the sets did well to set the mood. Also, Sasha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter are absolutely delightful in this movie. I felt like they were the only actors who had any energy.

The main reason why I did not like this movie is that I do not think Hugh Jackman can sing. Every time he came on I would start to cringe. The rest of cast were just there. I did not care about their story line.

Wait I've seen this before....

Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILER* As I watch this movie with my husband I tell him what is going to happen next because the storyline is exactly like The Man from Snowy River. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie. The effects and the characters were well played but it was almost comical how well it matched up with Snowy River. It had the same storyline with the father dying, the mountain man coming down to find work, a budding romance between two social stations, stern father figure and strong supportive aunt; some of the lines even seemed to match. The filming locations are gorgeous and I don't think I've have ever watched a movie showing dragon poop as big balls of wool and bones. If I wasn't put off by how well it matched I would have really liked this movie but the entire time I just kept comparing it.
