1923: 1923 (2022)
Where is the warning on this episode?
Watching this in Canada I have to say that Paramount+ should seriously consider adding a warning to the episode. The scenes of the indigenous abuse at the religious school was hard to watch. Some viewers may be triggered by the brutality depicted in this episode. Hearing stories in Canada from actual residential school survivors and seeing what was shown was pretty accurate.
The episode itself was a good start and has me interested to see where they go with this series. I started with 1883 and have not yet seen Yellowstone. I very much enjoyed the performances of both Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, they are the primary draw here for me.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Laughable and embarrassing
I had to invent a drinking game just to watch this sorry excuse for a Trek show. They need to take the Star Trek name off this show. This ship of fools should never have made it out of Starfleet. Every episode drones on about feelings and emotions at the worst possible time. Not saying people shouldn't deal with feelings but really they need to pick better times like they did in TNG. The show should be about Discovering what is out there, if you need self Discovery do it on your own time not when you are in the middle of encountering a new species or tense stand-off with aliens. It has become such a distraction. Too many "check the boxes" each week. Please cancel this series and keep the writers away from Picard and Strange New Worlds. Don't screw that up!
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Backstory! (2021)
Didn't need a whole episode for CW back story
I was disappointed with this episode, missed the regular episode ensemble cast and interplay. Didn't laugh once in this episode. Could have done the back story for CW in a much shorter flash back if needed. The pacing was slow and was not invested in these new characters that were introduced. I'd give this episode a miss of you haven't watched it. Didn't really add to the overall story.
Another Life (2019)
Frustrating and irritating, not one character to care about.
If this is the type of crew we send for first contact, we are serially in trouble. The first episode was atrocious. I'm not sure why I kept watching. Cry babies in space who have no maturity at all. It's all very forced with terrible execution. Please don't renew this series. Better yet Netflix, stop making bad Sci-Fi.
The Little Stranger (2018)
You who?
Plodding story yet compelling and then disappointing finish. Like many I found this less than satisfying. I wouldn't recommend this movie. While the characters were interesting they were left undeveloped and with too many open questions.
100%: Julian Edelman (2019)
100% Inspiring journey!
I watched this with my son and will say that we both found the father son story inspiring. The love that the Edelman family shares was uplifting. Kudos to the parents for the values passed onto their children. Teaching kids how to survive in this world is the greatest gift you can give your kids. Even when they make mistakes loving them and showing them how to get past adversity.
The humour was a great bonus showing the deep connections between the "work friends", loved it!
Lastly, I'll just say that there are some haters leaving low rating reviews just ignore them. They missed the point.
Patient Zero (2018)
Patient Zero was a total Zero
Waste of time. Sad considering the actors in this movie. This could have been something good but what a flop it turned out to be.
Twin Peaks: The Return (2017)
Head Scratcher
I'm really not sure what is happening in this show. I never watched the first run of the show so didn't know what to expect. This was very odd, like really odd. I have made it to the third episode and I may change the rating later but for now this is a 1 for me. I am confused, frustrated, at times irritated by the fact that I can't make out what is happening. I really wanted to enjoy this series but I have to wonder what was going on in the writers head when this script was put together. Far to artsy for mainstream viewing. Looking at the other reviews it's a real love it or hate it spread. I'll give it a couple more episodes but I may be done as I don't think that I can get through the 18 episodes that are slated.
