Sugar Hill (1993)

Criminally underrated

This is classic and one of the best example of Black actors doing actual acting, not just looking in inner mirror of ofended vanity and inbeded inferiority. I can not explain rating below 6 other than institutional racism of early 90th. Many films took from it with no gratitude or recognition. No other than Best Boy series owes ir a lot. I am still hopefull for this film future recognition for there is a lot more to it then meets the eye. You can see in it Me too movement with black actress obused by some producer predator, drag trade in Harlem history that destroyed the area after King death and eternal dramma of brothely love and dependency. Criminally underrated. Fantastic acting. With the Best role in my opinion is the father.

Mom and Dad (2017)

Good screenplay ruined.

Bad directing, horrible editing and cameraman has epilepsy. Could be so much better if actual film director would be in charge, instead it is teenager that deserve to be in situation so haphazardly described in this film. Probably director had only experience in making music videos but not the films and he should be kept prevented from filmmaking. I am happy that I saw it on the netflix for if I had to pay for this I would be really angry, now I am just surprised that film can be made by people with their face in to mobile phone during all the process. Poor actors were lured in to this mess and I doubt any of them saw it.

Poor west missed important writing that Created fame for Tarkovskiy. This version of the book is a mess, but hopefully some will go to the book after. Strugatskie is the name of the wroghters This brothers were best authors of 20th century.

Fright Night Part 2 (1988)

Most underrated film ever

This is a classic. Special effect, Soundtrack and charisma in this film are very special. I saw it before first part and really don't understand why it is rated below it? Probably too artistic for most viewers? Now why this film can be below 6 on IMDB rating is really strange. I would actually expect 7.

Impressive, believable and stunning adaptation for above average intelligence. Let face it, same level needed to read the book. Reminds me Lord of the ring as perfect adaptation and Revenant as tribute to Tarkovskiy, with its slow pase necessary to create cinematic experience rather than stupid Marvel flick. I bet 4 Oscars goes to the Dune for it is real Art. Can't wait for part 2. P. S no cringing influence from first adaptation At All! Like if Director and actors have never seen it.

Logic rejecting nonsense.

Bad writing meeting bad directing.

This was brain numbing exercise only appealing to heavy users. Even though mental age of all craters about 7 with appropriate behaviour and decision making, they been given swords and guns instead of crayons. Good thing I went on my Limitless but what a sucker I would be if I have paid full price!

P. S What happened with Robert Schwentke?

Most Degrading sexist film for the last 10 years

This is demining Victorian rubbish that teach women not to be Humans. I thought cult of female victimhood is over beaten by self awareness, Police protection, Judges or simple self defence. In Real life she would get 50% of his estate in the court of law or bash his teeth out with baseball but. But with this film we are back to Weak inferiority of woman. This Sexist crap should be banned.

Missed masterpiece

Such a pity that Soviet government has shelved it. It had to bean Oscar. World just missed it.. Poor poor world. I saw it first in my teens inside Soviet Russia... I am British now but still think no other film came close on this subject. West writes yobs off too quickly instead of reviving their consciences.

Director like to read Kafka and watch Tarkovsky i suppose. But it is not enough to add mastrubation to be original, you also need structure that is clearly communicated. Film would benefit from subtitles on account of speech clarity sacrificed to authenticity. Acting is the key point in this hazy daydream and without that it is hardly noticeable arthouse B movie. One more thing, with such modest budget it was phenomenal investment.

The King (I) (2019)

It has absolutely stupid and unlikely ending. King becomes socialist and kind of pacifist right after ordering to execute prisoners. And all of that because French cheek he has never met. Very naive..

Jack Ryan (2018–2023)

One night stand place a bag on Ryan during his Nike Mission! He gets her several times and yet she reveals more plots against him... How Stupid it is???? Who is it for?

Mother! (2017)

Film for the few

Not for the most i would say. Very heavy shocking and honest take on people in mass. Utterly unflattering. But that is not it! Poet with Ruthlessness of the prophet in submitting everything to his values is also in love, with himself and his power.

And so much more!

Difficult and complex art that i can not get out of my head. It may become a timeless classic for the few. And bad reviews will be gone in a year, like in the case of Fountain.. People just went to the wrong film that is all.

Heart of a Dog (1988 TV Movie)

Better than the book.

Fantastic actors deliver perfect performance under perfect directorship. This important film was impossible in Soviet Union, right until end of eighties. Even book was banned and distributed in illegal, handwritten copies. Even though Soviet Union died, questions in relationships between classes as sharp as ever. Patronising upper and ignorant, lazy, temporary empowered lower class in perpetual conflict worldwide with no answer in light. 10 out of 10...

T2 Trainspotting (2017)

Better than expected.

How will you make a sequel for the classic without offending Fans? It is impossible and i understand bad reviews, in one of them however, a person is going to watch it again! That kind of explains it really.

Was grate to see the guys again, and final moment is really, really good conclusion tho this all.

How weak you really are?

Not typical happy end American movie. Feels more like European but with better camera and styling. For the story however, it may annoy a lot of people. Cowardice and insecurity in others is enraging. Do they deserve redemption? Probably of this type at the best?

For me it was very involving, but how many people have actually been tested this way? Ho many were able to challenge they own fear in our time of liberal dictatorship and decline in normal popular Masculinity? And how many have real compassion and integrity?

Thought provoking and morally challenging film.

Hardcore Henry (2015)

Why not in 7 stars?

This is very underrated film. Problem is there was nothing like that before, so many people can not identify it with anything. And i think another factor is origins of this movie. Well, it is not Hollywood. It is Russian Director and mostly Russian team. Why would they promote or rate competition? I can bet Hollywood will make some exact but still sickening remake in couple of years. Like with: Let the right one in, The Ring, Oldboy,

And many more.

They simply have to repeat grate movies bit more slowly for someone. Luckily, not for me.

But Hardcore Henry Rollacosta Ride will be one of my favorite Action films for years to come. Please more Ilya Naishuller. Don't stop there.

Suicide Squad (2016)

Never been that cheated.

Live your intelligence outside and submerge yourself in to most fragmented bad dream.

Story is primitive and yet complected mush, that live only one question "How many authors had a go writing it? And have they read earlier material?" No, this is not Batman with bad knees, it is next level. Even special effects can not distract you from heavily mutated story.

Could be good for very young kids if only not too scary, boring and political. As it is, perfect scary lullaby for young once.

But worse of all, random introduction of maverick character, only for making the point that escape is futile. They simply had to take some ones head off, did they? No really, where is this Slipknot came from? Other than from black Van?

Even with attempted humour and some good effects it is still 5 out of 10 (stretch really)

At least grate cast had nice payment at the end of this embarrassment, but not at my expense. I am asking for a refund.

Elysium (I) (2013)

Don't expect District 9, it was a hard act to follow.

Expectations from this film were blown out of the proportion and fans of Sci fi will most likely miss on sentimental part of it. And there is a lot of it in this film.

So, bit of advise to Sci Fi fans... Take your Girlfriend with you and watch it together.

P.S Near and inevitable future of the messed up overpopulated slam runed by selfish Businesses shown exceptionally well. After all there are many such Elysiums around.

P.P.S Don't sit close to the screen as camera-work bit shaky. Neill Blomkamp trademark?
