David and Goliath (2015)
Best Biblical film I've seen
Best Biblical film I've seen....
I don't understand why some people are so against this movie. Many people right away point to the fact that it was too long. There are a number of wonderful movies that are "too long", including Saving Private Ryan, Gone With The Wind, Schindler's List, Magnolia (shall I go on?).
I'm a big fan of the filmmaker's other films. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. I loved that the film was shot in Africa and the behind the scenes of how they made the film is incredible.
10 out of 10 stars for me.
Slamma Jamma (2017)
Inspiring
"Theres no easy way out" - this is the motto of the movie. One of my personal favorites. This one will leave you with tears and happiness, a great one to buy or rent. I like the director's previous film 'Suing the Devil' - very talented filmmaker.
Suing the Devil (2011)
The Devil is in the details. . .
The movie was thought provoking, and I enjoyed it. Haven't seen Malcolm Macdowall on the big screen in a long time, so I thought I would check it out.
I wasn't expecting that much, this being an independent feature, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The Devil (Satan), is not wearing red pajamas, wearing horns, or carrying a pitchfork. Rather he is portrayed as an evil CEO type, with dark shades and expensive designer suit. I bet most people think of someone like Bernie Madoff as someone who is more like the devil than anyone else, so this goes in line with popular thinking.
The only thing I didn't like was the acting of the lead character, Luke. I thought he was being a bit over-dramatic in some scenes, but perhaps he is a stage actor? Other than that, an enjoyable Christian film.
