Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! (2022)
First original feeling movie in a while
This really has the plot and storyline of a Scooby-Doo movie verses just an extra long tv episode worthy mystery.
The Halloween tie in is really fun but isn't the heart of the movie, but more just the background amount the story the gang is involved in.
I feel like the comedy mixes classic cartoon jokes with some new animated comedy. A more cartoonish version of jokes we got in Scooby-Doo: Mystery Inc.
I think people need to realize that franchises aren't going to be the same thing over and over otherwise they get dull and boring, and the changes this film made are really fun!
And anyone who has issue with Velma in this, we had episodes/films where Shaggy, Velma, and Daphne do the same thing with a character they need in the episode/film. Doesn't distract from any of the movie, just adds to it.
Life & Beth (2022)
Good dramedy, boarderline great.
One again trolls saw the name, "Amy Schumer" and flooded in with the 1 star ratings before the show even premiered. I'll never get why people feel the need to waste their time being a loser who can't get over the success of Schumer. Clearly, she has an audience and people enjoy her work.
The dramedy style isn't everyone's cup of tea, but if you like having someone to root for who has fallen into the cycle of life we all have, then you should check out this show.
The cast is also wonderful. Even the small parts give you some of the biggest laughs.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
Good fun
Got to laugh at all the bad reviews from people who liked the original "Space Jam" as a child, now dissing this remake as a grown adult, even though it was made for kids. This was good fun, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
A modern day remake, with one of today's most well known athletes, and all the classic Toon characters. I actively enjoyed myself for the entirety of the film.
Us (2019)
Great movie with some metaphors
I don't get the hate on here. I just don't trust that people actually saw it and judged it on the movie alone and not on personal beliefs of Jordan Peel and his stance on topics like race, politics, class, etc.
The movie itself was a great movie and a good horror movie. I saw the trailer and the film really took turns I didn't expect. Some metaphors were a bit on the nose but I think majority of them were masked well in the storyline.
