My Name is Alice, and I remember everything...
Milla Jovovich is stunning once again as Alice in Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
RE2 had more action packing and azz kicking scenes than the first, even if the plot was a little thin.
Co-starring Oded Fehr, Resident Evil: Apocalypse will keep you wanting more.
(Really, as in more story line)
It was good, but could have been better. It's worth seeing for the action. 6.5 out of 10.
The Village (2004)
Shyamalan's Best Yet
First of all, you have to have had to like his first movies (Signs, The Sixth Sense) to like this movie. M. Night creates this sort of pattern in his work, much like Alfred Hitchcock did. But Shyamalan has a little something extra all his own. Most people that dislike his work simply do not understand it. You have to put yourself in Shyamalan and walk around in his mind. You have to pretend you're the one behind the lens of the camera. 'The Village' is a non-super natural thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more. A movie that has you put yourself in this almost surreal place and fight your own fears is never-ending fun. 7.9 out of 10.
Ned Kelly (2003)
Superb
Ned Kelly made me laugh, cry, and then bawl. This movie shows how injustice according to social status can be literally breath-taking. Heath Ledger takes over as Ned Kelly and leads a cast of wonderful actors of young and old. Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom, Geoffery Rush, and Joel Edgerton give inspiring performances in this non-fiction piece. I couldn't have picked better performers for this tale of a legend. Ned Kelly is absolutely superb. 7.5 out of 10.
Solomon and Gaenor (1999)
Loved it
This was a classic case of the Romeo and Juliet syndrome. The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is moving such as this movie was. Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story, and Soloman and Gaenor are of the three favorites of mine in this genre. The ending of Soloman and Gaenor is saddening. The most moving scene, though also troubling, was when Soloman fought with Gaenor's brother...."Where's Gaenor?"...his famous line as he got the crap beat out of him. It was brave and stupid at the same time. A good love story. 7 out of 10.
King Arthur (2004)
Mixed Thoughts and Emotions
I definitely have mixed thoughts and emotions about this movie. I can't really say that I liked it. I can't really say I didn't like it. I'm sitting on the fence. I've always loved the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, but this movie takes everything to a new proportion. It really has nothing to do with the original story, but I guess that's because it's an adaptation. Still, perhaps stories should not have this extreme of an adaptation. The only thing I truly liked was the actors. Clive Owen, Keira Knightly, Joel Edgerton, Ioan Gruffudd, and Mads Mikkelson among many others made quite the performance.
