Andra Day earned a chance at Oscar

I am glad that I saw it. The movie was well done, but not perfect. I did not know much of Billie Holiday, so her background as shown in the film is painfully helpful. What a challenging and short life that she lead. She was strong, persistent, and had tons of talent. She was a survivor and she broke ground for others after her. Andra Day was very convincing as Holiday. I hope she gets her due. Thank you

I want to love this movie. Especially since it is a true story. Acting is good. And I am glad that I saw it. But somehow I didn't fall into its spell as I wanted to. It seemed a bit formula. Too many characters perhaps? The "flashbacks" worked perhaps because they almost split screentime with the present. Glen Close was very good. For comparison to another true story, see Erin Brockovitch. That FELT real to me.

I've watched the first 3 episodes so far. Gripping and well developed story here. I'm very impressed.
