Joe Rogan: Triggered (2016)
Admirable
What Joe Rogan did here was very, very brave.
Joe Rogan opens every joke with laying out a verbal minefield for himself. Every time he starts a new joke I find myself saying "uh-oh" out loud, and by the end of every joke he has successfully managed to maneuver out of the minefield with humor and a valid point.
I do myself strongly agree with him on some points and others not so much, but when i see past his showmanship i can see that there is a strong case behind his opinions.
This made me laugh very much, but i'm not giving it a 10/10 purely because of the jokes. This routine is admirable because he dared discuss some of the most touchy subjects, in the most uncompromising way, in front of a large audience. 10/10 for bravery.
The Powerpuff Girls (2016)
Same old.
It's pretty much the same show i watched as a kid. The only reason people don't like it as much anymore is because both the show and ourselves have aged and the new episodes don't hold the same nostalgia-value as the old ones. At least that's my opinion.
The only difference here is the cast, and slight changes in the animation.
I don't think the old show was as amazing as the internet insists it is, but it's decent/fine/OK.
And I've noticed some other reviews stating outrage over the vilification of gender-swapping or transgenders. That is not the case, this is aimed at kids (i.e opposite gender of lead-child has cooties) and i don't really think magic, red, supernatural things really need a gender, we don't know.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Disappointing Toy-Pusher.
I'm gonna start with the positive. I like how they've chosen to follow a storyline exploring Oscorp and the Parker family's dark secrets. There are some things i feel they should have changed (Like the underground laboratory) but overall a good arc to follow.
Negative: What were they thinking with making Harry Osborn become the Goblin before Norman. This is a bad decision that will likely anger many fans. They gave Harry a plausible reason to become the Goblin, but this still does not sit well with me. The build-up to the Sinister Six makes it obvious that the rebooted Spiderman franchise's main motivation is to sell toys and cash in on those rather than the movies themselves.
