The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Where's the iconic Matrix action?
No seriously... where's the iconic Matrix action??
It's 2021 and there was better cgi action in 1999!
This feels more of a knock off than an actual movie inspired from the concepts of the previous films.
Much disappointment.
Origin (2018)
This NEEDS to be picked up!
After rewatching Event Horizon for the dozenth time, I stumbled across Origin in the More Like This feed.
This show is amazing and intense. Great cast, great acting, great story, polished effects and cinematography.
I almost didn't want to watch it in case I enjoyed it knowing there was no Season 2 but I'm glad I did.
Sadly, as it's now been two years since it was cancelled already it doesn't seem another network will be picking it up which is such a disappointment to all sci-fi and horror fans out there.
Such a loss.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
Great film but...
Last night I watched "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for the first time ever in preparation for Ryan Murphy's "Nurse Ratched"; and I really wish I had seen it when I was younger.
By today's standards it was M I L D. Based on the torturous history of institutions and Ratched's pop-culture reputation, I was expecting Annie Wilkes and not just a nurse with a stern look trying her best to do her job with bad hair.
Euphoria: Shook Ones Pt II (2019)
100% Magnolia rip off
While I still loved this episode and this show, the blatant copycatting of one of my all time favourite movies definitely threw me off and diminished the creative quality of this episode. For this, it gets a 3.
American Gods (2017)
I never write reviews but...
I'm just so damn disappointed!
Season 1 blew my mind... the casting, the visuals, the storyline and the music. I got into AG late in the game and was oblivious to the 2 year hiatus and the drama behind the scenes. That is until I got to Season 2 Episode 1 and the whole episode felt... off. Everything that engaged my brain and senses in Season 1 were gone. I googled in order to find out what's up and now realize it was a huge mistake for the production company to fire Fuller and Green. I admire the loyalty in Anderson and Chenoweth's leave to follow Fuller, but that dismantled Season One's cliff hanger/storyline set-up and dissolved a brilliantly acted villain of Media.
I'm on S2E3 and am packing it in... and I rarely give up on a show that once excited me so much (GoT!). It's no longer a magically realized tantalizing show with edge, and no longer worth my time.
Starz had something beautiful and killed it.
Rating changed from a 9 to a 5.
