Judwaa 2 (2017)

Fun-derful, brains switch off Movie

Judwaa 2 - Fun-derfull movie. Remake of Salman Khan's movie Judwa. Its a Movie about twins who got separated after birth because of some unfortunate circumstances. Besides face they don't have anything in common as were raised in different environments. However, they had a mirror impact for each other's actions. The circumstances they face and how they got reunited is what the movie is all about. David added Varun's uniqueness in this remake. Though I don't remember the original story completely though believe that there are many changes made. Story is good, songs are good, comedy is relevant as per age. Varun and Jacqueline did a good job however Tapsee seemed unsuited(uncomfortable as well) for this role. After her first Bollywood movie Chasme Badoor she didn't got much opportunity to do Bollywood masala movies hence got shifted to strong kick-ass characters. This lack of expertise was quite visible. Maybe this movie can get her back to masala-romantic arena. Rajpal Yadav tried to add his charm though Varun was enough as per comedy. Overall it's a complete time-pass movie(though nothing original) and you can spend your hard earned money on this.

Sarkar 3 (2017)

Not a Sarkar anymore

Sarkar 3 - Below average movie. There was no need to make this movie. Movie is about Subash Nagre, his hold on common man, his rivals and a sudden appearance of his grandson. Story starts with how the grandson of Subash Nagre got impressed with the way of working of his grandfather and joined him. Progresses with aftereffects of the grandson coming on board and ends with how peace was made with the help of politics and violence. Story was very poor. Ramu tried to reinstate his career by the Sarkar franchisee however the lack of proper script and direction failed it. Dialogues were not impressive. There's too much use of background music to create a dreadful impact however the lack of strong script and dialogues maked the movie loses it's impact. AB has nothing new to show as there was scope in the script. Amit was average. Yami was just a showpiece who was there just to smile and stare when somebody says something. Waste of Manoj Bajpai's talent. Jacky failed to make an impact as a Don with awful dialogues. Couple of times Amitabh Bachaan spoke few lines in marathi and director make no attempt to have a proper pronunciation. Climax was made in a hurry. Overall there's no reason to watch this movie.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

Nice Conclusion

‌Bahubali 2 - Nice movie. Finally the curtain has been raised over the mystery of Kattappa's betrayal. Movie is a larger than life sequel of the Rise and Fall and again rise of Amrendra Bahubali. Story is good, Special effects are awesome, songs are not much appealing compared to the previous one and fight scenes are good though have an over dose of unrealism(but we can't complain as it's long awaited bahubali-2). Story starts with a quick recap of the first part. Runs with the love story of Bahubali-Devsena, what led to the sacrifice of Sivagami, murder of Bahubali and ends up with much awaited revenge and win of good over bad. Prabhas is good and his larger than life portrayal as a king is awesome. Anushka is good as a Princess and matched well with Prabhas. Rana is Badly good as the previous one. Both Ramaiya and Naseer did well in their respective roles. Tamannah's screen presence is next to nothing. Special effects are awesome, specially the fight scenes(I thought I'm watching a Hercules movie, LOL). Bahubali has proved that we are also capable of making such films which can match up to the standard of west. Even after all this, still there is some disappointment (I don't know what is leading me to this, may be the expectations were too high). Movie is good and give it a shot after all we all deserve to know why 'Katappa Killed Bahubali'.

Raees (2017)

Not so Raees(Rich)

Raees - Good but not so good film. Film revolves around the illegal liquor trade in Gujarat(as liquor is banned in Gujarat). It's a typical Shahrukh movie with a twist of negativity. First half appeared to be a trademark Ram Gopal Verma Film - breaking bottles, killing enemies and making of a gangster. Second half make little sense - acting based situations, cat-mouse relation between Criminal-Politician-Police. Shahrukh's acting has nothing new, its same as his other movies. Nawazuddin's acting was normal. Actually its very hard for an actor like Nawaz to probe his mettle in a typically commercial movie. Mahira's acting was very natural. Sometimes she looks good and sometimes she seemed to be more aged than Shahrukh(maybe the fault is in my eyes). Story of the film is good and has relevance to many real-life incidents. End was quite predictable as main character of the movie had darker shades. Movie is bound to show the win of good over bad and specially when it's a movie of the superstar of Bollywood(social responsibility). Overall its a one time watch.

Jolly LLB 2 (2017)

Quite Jolly

Jolly LLB 2 - Good film. As we all know its a court room drama and story revolves around a Lawyer with no credibility, who is forced by the circumstances to take a case(at the risk of his life) which gives him respect, self satisfaction and fame. Film has some comedy moments.I liked the introduction scene of Huma( I haven't even seen a drunkard to drink 3 pegs of 60 so fast, lol. Director must have forgot to tell her to act like having whisky, not coke). All actors have done a good job. Akshay's acting has nothing new but it was nice. Huma's screen presence was very less and had nothing much to do. Anu Kapoor justified his character. Saurabh's character was really funny and he did it wonderfully. Actually it should be obvious for us to expect some quality acting from a theater personality. Songs were totally useless.Film is about fight between the people in power and the common man who has nothing much to do but try. Its also about the Lawyers that its OK to earn money but when it comes to life and death of an innocent, then think from the aspect of humanity. Overall its a good movie to watch though not awesome.

Begum Jaan (2017)

Good movie though not awesome

Begum Jaan - Nice movie. It's a remake of bengali movie "Rajkahini". (Those who understand bengali, do watch Rajkahini as Rituparna Sengupta's acting is very good) As I have already seen the original, plot was not alien to me however with an exception Hindi version tried to link the movie with the Nirbhaya case(which was not required). Anyways, Story revolves around a brothel which was stuck between the dilemma of Indian-Pakistan partition. Begum Jaan played by Vidya Balan(head of the brothel) was asked to vacate as the LOC has to be drawn over the brothel but, she refused. Story progresses with how the situation started to become worse and ended on becoming an unfortunate story. Vidya is used to portray strong characters effectively and there is no exception in Begam Jaan as well. Gauhar is good, Pallavi sharda is decent(thank God its better than "Besharam"). All other characters Ashish, Rajit, Chunky have done a good job. Overall its a good movie and if you can leave F&F8(lol) and want to see some good acting, do watch it.

Rangoon (II) (2017)

Good movie but little stretchy

Rangoon - Nice movie. Movie revolves around the pre Independence era and the rise of patriotism among the so called Indians who thought British rule was better than the power going in to the hands of their fellow Indians. In the middle of all this - a Passionate triangle love story. Story has a touch of Vishal's uniqueness, dialogues looks good with some famous Shairis included in it and songs are not so melodious however sounds good as have different kind of lyrics which resembles Vishal Bhardwaj type of movies. All actors have done a beautiful job. Shahid has really grown as an actor with some great movies in his bucket though the film doesn't allows him show his full potential as screen is shared by two other established actors. Kangana has a very good screen share and she used it wisely with her performance and beauty. Saif's acting has nothing new to offer. Supporting actors​ are good. First half of the movie is little slow paced but gradually picks up. Second half is decent. Overall its a good watch
