Alien: Covenant (2017)
A story made on a crew who continue to make stupid decisions
Like most reviewers had mentioned, the movie had the potential to be something but fails miserably.
Story was very hard to believe from the beginning. Crew had 3 couples. Odd!!! And they continued to make decisions that question their ability to be part of such an expedition.
I'm done with Alien rubbish!!!
This Is the End (2013)
This is "THE" problem of American Comedies!
Even from a bunch of lame actors like them, I still expected more than this. This is the problem with most American comedies featuring this line of actors; they try too hard, they think they have to make each and every line in the movie a joke. So from the beginning they keep making more and more lame lines (I am surprised how they find it funny unless they were all stoned during the movie) trying to be funny which fails the whole movie. I couldn't finish watching the movie and for a first time in my life, I fell asleep for a new movie. When both my partner and I woke up later, we were both happy it had already ended!
3/10
District 9 (2009)
A Classic if you stayed till the end!
I must admit that I found this movie quite ridiculous on my first two attempts to watch it. But then again it was because I couldn't sit and watch it for more than 30 minutes. I didn't really like what I was seeing. But then after reading all positive reviews, I thought I should give this movie one more go. Boy!! I was surprised. 3rd time I tried my attitude had changed. I was curious to know why this movie is known as such a great Sci-Fi. It was more like I was given one final chance to appreciate a movie what I call a Sci-Fi masterpiece.
Once you pass the 30-40 min mark, it only gets more and more interesting, and keeps you so attached to the story. "District 9" creates a whole new perspective to the question "What if Aliens really come to the Earth?"
Acting and the story was amazing. This is a must watch movie and this has won a place in my top 100 movies ever easily.
9/10
Wolf Creek (2005)
Don't forget it's a true story
The reason why I wanted to review this title is because of the average rating it has got which is just over 6/10 at the moment. I believe this deserves a 7/10. Why?
Is it because of great acting? Not Really. Is it because the story is so logical? Not Really. Then Why?
The story is based on True Events. So the director tries his best to keep the plot to the truth while creating a cinematic experience for you. Story involves 3 victims who are apparently not the smartest on Earth to end up in a situation like that, so they continue to do silly things which you should forgive. The director has done a great job here and also this story tells a true dark side of some Australians. They have had a rough life. They basically turned a Desert into one of the top 10 countries in the world. So they are quite tough in the outback and they kind of hate foreigners naturally.
I think this movie has done great job in telling a true story as it was meant to.
The Conjuring (2013)
One of the greatest movies which also happened to be a great Horror Movie
I went to watch this at an 11PM session. The crowd was childish and annoying. They were too noisy but I still managed to enjoy this movie simply because it was really worth-watching.
If you only watch a horror movie to scream, then this movie might not interest you at all. But if you appreciate a great movie in general, this is an awesome movie.
The story was believable thanks to great directing, editing and acting by all the stars in this movie.
Can't wait for the BluRay :)
8.5/10
Django Unchained (2012)
Who unchained this rubbish!!!
Since I saw the trailer, I always wanted to go see this in the movies, and I did with my partner.
It started off with a classic touch with witty dialogues. I was getting excited for the movie, then half way through the movie something happened.
All of a sudden there was music, in my opinion, did not suit the movie at all. All of a sudden the story started to drag and drag. It was almost like watching different movies. After awhile I just couldn't wait till the movie was over. But it never did. Just when I thought it was over, it changed and started all over again. Action scenes started to look stupid in the end, especially when Django shoots someone, and the victim gets thrown away in a completely different direction compared to the angle the shot was fired.
Good acting from almost all the stars.
I can only blame the story and editing. It was quite annoying.
I can only rate it 6/10.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012)
Finally I know what's wrong with the world
To be fair I must add, I never watched any of the previous Twilight movies before this one, neither have I read the book.
For a change in my life, I happily accompanied my girlfriend to watch it at the movies, and I was so surprised how hard it was to book for a session with an empty seat for us. The theater was packed with a generation of their own. I sit through the whole movie holding the hand of my loved one, trying to find if there is a single scene in the movie that I would have liked. Unfortunately there was none.
There was one scene in the movie, the whole crowd started cheering and at that point I realized what is wrong with the world today. Why it is full of rubbish because we have created a generation that would cheer for an extremely stupid scene in this movie while half of the theater was empty for the movie "Argo (2012)".
