The Batman (2022)
7/10
So So wannabe Snyder like production/Watchmen
1 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's almost like Rorshach from Watchmen turned into Batman. Penguin/Farrell was the highlight of this movie. Pattinson does a decent job, but being Batman is a challenging role when you follow Bale and Keaton (first movie). Dano does a good job as the Riddler. Dano is solid in almost anything he does. Overall, it was decent and I would watch a sequel with the Joker taking center stage as the villain based on the ending. If you thought this film was at least decent, I would recommend watching the movie Watchmen and then the Watchmen series on HBO, or better yet read the Watchmen graphic novel as well.

Incredible Series!! (Especially if you read Watchmen))
22 September 2023
Cinematography, storyline and acting are all top notch. The series does not spoon feed you anything, which makes the series that much more enjoyable for me. The series will make more sense to those who've read the book, but it still does a decent job of filling in some of the gaps the movie doesn't cover. It takes about 3-4 episodes in where the storyline starts to makes a lot more sense, but it was intended to be this way. Anyone who enjoyed the book or movie should love this series by the time you've finished it. I find it hard to understand how anyone who enjoyed Watchmen can rate this show less than 9, but for those who rated this 5 or less, they most likely never read the book or saw the movie and if they did, there was no point for them to watch this if they didn't enjoy Watchmen to begin with. I can only imagine that those who rated this 5 or less are most likely a w.supremacist. You'll understand.

Enjoyed It More The Second Time; 10 Years Later
9 September 2023
First time I saw this was shortly after it came out. When it came out it was 4 years after The Dark Knight was released and many people were still talking about Heath Ledger and whether Tom Hardy will come close to Ledger's legendary performance as a Batman villain. I recently watched this again and it was so much better the second time for me. It was because I haven't watched The Dark Knight in years and I wasn't comparing it anymore to that film. The storyline, dialogue and attention to details were amazing.

Over the last ten years I got to watch several more Tom Hardy films as well as his series Peaky Blinders and Taboo. Hardy is pretty much amazing in anything he does and he kicked ass as Bane.

Wonderful is you're a fan of The Beatles
25 July 2022
It's a 10 if you're a fan of The Beatles and like a lot of their music. Watching and listening to The Beatles create some of the best music in history is a gift. Don't comment or rate this if you're not a fan of one of the best groups in history. Can't imagine anyone watching this and not enjoying just the music.

Could Not Get Into It
18 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The show is more of a cliche where you have a renegade detective on the right path to solving a big crime, but no one believes him at first. Throw in some self destructive behavior, a troubled relationship with his daughter from a previous relationship, a girlfriend he keeps pushing away, and some unorthodox detective work, and that pretty much sums it up.

First few seasons were enjoyable, but in the end, it got silly, predictable and the acting suffered.

So Frustrating
18 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
You would think common sense. logic and open mindedness might prevail at some point in this series where religious brain washing and superstition is much of the theme. In the end, it's a frustrating mess with an ending where strict adherence to religious laws and devotion is more important than what actually makes good people happy.

Awesome Movie; Ignore the Bad Reviews
18 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
One has to understand some of the history behind Charles Manson before watching this great movie and reviewing it. Phenomenal acting by DiCaprio, Pitt and Robbie. There were some great cameos as well. I love when Tarantino rewrites history where the good guys prevail overall.

Anyone who rated this movie less than 8 should not be allowed to rate and review movies at all. This is where IMDB fails society; when they let any moron review and rate a movie. Many times I have to rate a movie which is not truly a 10 a 10, just to counter the morons who vote them a 1.

Really good until the end of the last episode of season 2.
18 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The series should have just ended at the end of season 2. Joe had everything he wanted and spent all season trying to prove he could love someone and be good to them. Granted Love and Joe are twisted and damaged and had done some heinous things, but they had a chance to settle down and raise a child in a loving home. At the very end of season 2, it all seemed like the season was a waste, where Joe was back to square one and it was like he wasn't even the same person in all the previous episodes.

Ignore Reviews Less Than 7
18 January 2020
Most of the time I enjoy a movie or show these days I have to rate them a 10 on IMDB to counter the morons on here who jump to rate things a 1. Love the comments where they use the words "worst ever" or "most boring ever". Then you look to see what else they reviewed and it's usually some high rating for some mindless, predictable dribble. It takes time, talented actors, good cinematography, good writing, and many other resources to put a decent series or movie together.

Honestly, I would give this series an 8. Great acting and good build up. I rated it a 10 to counter people with low intelligence who rated it a 1. I enjoyed it.

Ignore The Negative Reviews
4 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I am pretty sure most of the negative reviews are from diehard fans who haven't even watched and or fully watched the documentary. I have no doubt Wade Robson and James Safechuck were sexually abused by Michael Jackson as young boys. Anyone who knows something about pedophiliacs know they groom their victims, just like Michael did. Michael Jackson groomed whole families with his fame and fortune in order to get them to the point where they would think it would be ok to let their young boys sleep with Michael. Wade and James and their families have nothing to gain from this documentary other than to show the world they are in a place where they can open up publicly about Michael Jackson's abuse, because in the past, during the Jackson's trials, they weren't. I am a big fan of Michael Jackson's music, but I absolutely believe he was a pedophile and he should have died in jail. Anyone who thinks this is some elaborate conspiracy is a moron. There is nothing normal about a grown man frequently having young boys sleeping alone with him.

Great Comedy, Not Sure Why The Bad Reviews.
11 September 2015
Not every comedy show is going to be liked by everybody, but Married overall is a smart comedy with great timing. Nat Faxon and Judy Greer play a married couple with three kids. They are pretty much the average family, trying to make ends meet while dealing with life issues in a comical sort of way. Faxon and Greer have great timing and they play great off each other. Some episodes are funnier than others and a little too silly, but overall, I always get at least one or more decent laughs in each episode, and I hardly ever laugh watching most comedies. The show covers all aspects of marriage, including parenting and friends. The show has a dark, twisted sort of humor, but it also conveys the right message as well. After the first episode, it grows on you. I'm very happy they made a second season. The show to me is a mix of National Lampoons(earlier years) and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Besides this show, the only other comedy worth watching these days is Silicon Valley.

The Normal Heart (2014 TV Movie)

Great Movie, Does Honor to those affected by AIDS
26 May 2014
Over 35 million people have died from AIDs and each person affected by HIV/AIDS has their own story to tell. Not to say that every AIDs movie is immune to criticism, but on a whole this film was excellent. Larry Kramer wanted his vision regarding the AIDS epidemic to include love and relationships in the gay community. The Normal Heart is about how the gay community, especially the gay men, were suffering from the AIDS virus as well as the prejudices and ostracism of the public's reaction to the epidemic and who it affected. The Normal Heart is about love, affection, and intimacy regardless of who it is between and to remind people of the suffering of those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Good Premise; Insulting to the Intelligence
27 December 2011
The story line started out decent and went downhill fast.

Throw in a sexy male male and female lead with the same old sexual tension and a bit of flirtation. Then add a fight scene to show two sweat drenched men with great abs standing around to please female and some male viewers and the story becomes a piece of trash. I was interested in watching a good story line unfold in a post civil war USA, not some trashy soap opera with a Clint Eastwood wannabe. Also, if you want to be taken seriously as an actor, using your stage/rap name "Common" to be listed among the cast doesn't help. After the first few episodes, the writers just painstakingly drag on the simple plot when they should have just made the whole series a two hour original movie.

Not Impressed At All
23 September 2010
I saw the movie years ago and enjoyed it. I thought Steve Martin did a great job as a father juggling with career choices, a family with problems, and a new baby on the way. This series is attempting to catch the supposed "struggling" family of the current era, but it fails to do so big time. Regardless of the child with autism, the rebellious daughter, or father with bad financial choices, the show is just too trite and pretentious for me. I don't find anyone in the series convincing, most of all the child with autism. Unless people are watching this out of boredom, I can't see this series lasting another year. The content and actors are dry.

A Complete Borefest
13 August 2005
I attempted to watch this movie and quickly regretted the decision about 30 minutes into the film. I was under the impression that the movie would make some kind of feeble attempt at presenting a story in a timely manner with some basic character build-up. Boy was I wrong. The movie seemed to avoid every possibility of a plot with a climax. The movie makes a sorry attempt at portraying the lives of ballet dancers in a company. I'm sure some research into the background of Neve Campbell, the so-called star of the film, would reveal some interest and background into ballet,I hope. Any ballet dancer could have been lead character. This film would have been better suited as a one hour documentary on A&E or Bravo. Over half the movie seemed to be dedicated to actual ballet performances, which were nice, but really dull. I'm sure there is much time, dedication, and drama in the lives of ballet dancers who battle it out to be the one performer who gets to shine on stage during performances, but this movie does a real boring job at portraying it.

Once Again , Another Great Performance by Javier
11 July 2005
Javier Bardem is a gift to the screen and the art of acting. Bardem puts on an excellent performance as Ramon Sompedro, a quadriplegic, who is dealing with the complexities surrounding euthanasia and the right to "die with dignity." A great supporting cast brings this very controversial topic a sense of substance and reality. Multiple approaches to the "right to die" argument are cleverly interspersed throughout this film. If you like Javier's acting in this role, you must check out "The Dancer Upstairs", directed by John Malkovich. Javier put his bets foot forward in every role he plays and gives each performance 110% effort. Don't be surprised to see this man win Best Actor in the future.
