Another powerhouse performance by Carey Mulligan
29 January 2021
Carey Mulligan is always a powerhouse in any move she's in and this one is no exception. It takes a while (up to the midpoint) to figure out what her motivations are, but when we do figure it out, we can really understand what the title of the movie really means. Its not only about her, its about her childhood best friend and a traumatic event that occured to each of them.

I don't really wanna spoil the movie, because I recommend people watch it. The other actors, many of whom I love and appreciate, do a fine job, but they don't shine the way Mulligan does. The spotlight is pretty much all on her. I'm not sure the dialogue makes it worthy of awards, but still, its a move that keeps you hooked until the very end.

Frustrating mess of a movie...
25 December 2018
With each passing minute my hate for this movie increased, by the end of it, I wanted to throw my TV out of the window. OK, so we pretty much know, right from the start, that no one is who they say they are. So the basic mystery is who are they and what do they want? Even at the end of it I'm still wondering if any any truth was told by the characters. That's the problem when you create a story based around characters that are mysterious and untrustworthy.

The idea that this entire hotel only had one employee was completely absurd. This movie was really frustrating.

The only reason I'll give it a 3 is because it had some decent cinematography.
