Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021)
The pandemic really degraded quality control at activision
I bought this specifically for that flying mission of midway. But boy howdy, here I assumed someone at activision understood the principles of flight mechanics or had ever been on or seen up close an actual airplane, I couldn't have been more incorrect.
I knew something was up when I noticed this still practically new game was 1/3 price. And though the story of the campaign was intriguing, first time I actually watched the cut scenes without screaming at my tv to just get on with it.
However I noticed that the aiming was quite like the OG CoD. Then I get to the flying missions, what I've literally been playing this game to get to, and the mechanics are so bonkers that I literally hate having played the game and having ever spent money on it. Even if it was just $25. Immeadiately uninstalled, a downward trend of ever worsening quality has been recognized within this brand and title, and my buying habits have been modified.
Stop jazzing it up. Stop adding. Try some accuracy instead.
Black Death (2010)
sub-par
Expected a movie, instead it felt more like a Christian propaganda film. Extremely anti-climatic ending. The antagonist was difficult to discern if you aren't a Christian who perceives persecution from any person who doesn't think as you do. To everyone else who may view this movie, the protagonist are the ones trotting off into the woods causing trouble. The antagonist were just minding their own business, attacking only those who came to do them harm. Only reason I continued watching was to see what new and interesting way they had thought of killing Sean Bean. Since we all know there's no film mechanism in this world that can permit Sean Bean to survive a movie.
Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
Supremely disappointed
This is odd for me. I don't really have super high standards for those "nostalgia" games or films, so I rarely have to worry with writing a bad review based on it not living up to expectations. But this game doesn't even live up to mediocre expectations. I had been a huge fan of Battlefront 2. My friends and I had gaming parties and championships. We loved the wide range of maps, battles, space battles, galactic conquest modes, etc.
I purchased this game and its season pass for DLC, and within 5 hours, asked for my money back. Yeah the graphics are great but it isn't even 1/5 of the game as battlefront 2. fewer characters, fewer maps, fewer game modes, no story, far less fun. No one wants to play it, no one talks about it. A few months after it was released it was like it had never even happened.
any success its had is from it's brand recognition. Do yourself a favor, if you're a PC gamer like me, Battlefront 2 is only a $2 on steam, download it and see for yourself how sub par this game is to its previous version which is more than 10 years old.
