100 Humans: Are You Biased? (2020)
Terribly Controlled Experiments!
You put one guy in a bright RED shirt and one guy in a PASTEL blue shirt, which one would you notice first??? Of course, the RED!!!! That was the color of the shirt of the black gentleman in the racial shooting experiment, where the black man was shot more often than the white man. He also jumped out in a quicker fashion. I can't imagine the producer did not realize these factors will influence in which direction the shooter would first orient. Almost like they had an agenda.... That said, I would agree that there is racial bias, but this experiment definitely stacked the decks...
Also, they compare proximity to like-folks and concluded that folks with tattoos got closer to a subject with tattoos than did non-tattooed people.. How do you know that folks with tattoos aren't just more comfortable approach ALL people?
I agree with another reviewer that separating the match-making groups into one group of males and one group of females suggests that the person is supposed to pick one from each group... These experiments are grossly manipulated and poorly controlled, again to stack the deck for the results they want. Shame on you!!!!!
The Odd Couple: Pilot (2015)
Just a lot of joke spewing
Matthew seemed too eager and excited to spit out each and every line in a loud, excited fashion... With no pauses or normal intonation.... Just didn't seem natural. I get it is a sitcom, but the characters have to t least be believable as people. There just wasn't conversation, just one liners. Very forced and fast paced. In real life, people respond after hearing and processing what someone said. The actors seemed like amateurs, just spewing their lines as fast as the another completes one. I am hopeful as a Matthew Perry fan, but he needs to "be" the character and really believe he talking to the other characters. I was very distracted by the poor acting and writing that I missed an overall story line. The writings need to vamp up the comedy to a more global level and not just entertain wit a bunch of over-acted one liners. Think deeper, and you can create great humor.
The Odd Couple (2015)
Disappointed, but hopeful
Matthew Perry's lines did not seem natural for him.... It was like he was just spewing out his lines, no pauses at all, not even between sentences.... And not at all like his character was talking to the other characters. Maybe he was trying too hard to be Jack Klugman... The woman he spoke with at the beginning if the episodes seemed unnatural as well. Not sure what's going on... He was very natural with his jokes as Chandler, had great timing. Sorry, Matthew Perry... I am hopeful you true talent will come through as you get comfortable with the character. Just seemed like a bunch of actors saying "lines." Also, his volume was just very loud and excited for each line.
