A Boy Called Sailboat (2018)
If the Cohen Brothers made a kids film
If the Cohen Brothers made a kids film... with an Australian bent, set it in Mexico and filled every frame with magic. You'd find A Boy Called Sailboat. Cameron Nugent has created an incredibly unique, special and instantly timeless classic.

love it
Anyone remember the game show 'Wheel of Fortune'? This is a very funny little short that sends up the contestants and how seriously they recall their time on the show. Featuring the one and only 'Baby' John Burgess (what a quiz show host with the most he was). Nice seeing him in this, he looks very much the part. Best bit in the film is the couple with the matching lemonade glasses - she's an addicted quiz show entrant who really really wanted to win the car, he's more interested in mowing the lawn during the interview. If you like deadpan comedy, you might enjoy this.. it's a low budget mock-documentary style little film, with some nice performances and some very funny one-liners.

I wish this was on DVD
Does anyone at all know if this series is available on DVD? I've heard some of the sketches are available for downloading to a mobile phone but I can't find where. The famous Terry Techno stuff is widely available though. This was honestly one of the first really good sketch series on the telly that appeared before all the drivel that's on today and yet it constantly gets ignored in all the press and summaries about Australian television comedy. It was absolutely left of centre, very dry, deadpan humour featuring some very talented unknowns at the time who have pretty much all gone on to do other things. The ABC sadly only made a few episodes, allegedly due to management changes but it repeats every now and then so keep an eye out for it.
