Son of God (2014)
Depends how you look at it.
If you are looking for a film that requires each word spoken to be completely and historically correct, this is NOT your film! If you need everything perfect and in place and action packed every moment, this is not your film either! However if you are a normal Christian who just likes a real good movie with decent filming you are going to either like or love this movie. My Son thought it was a good movie. My wife and I absolutely loved it! The final footage showed the agony that Jesus went through for us was very moving. It got you to really see just how much pain he went through for us in his final hours. Yes, it wasn't made to impress you with computer generated graphics to make you ooh and aah as the movie progresses from one scene to another. However it does portray what Jesus went through as his life continued from day to day at an easy pace without some sort of fancy footwork to make you think you have just seen a great flick. Son off God portrays Jesus in a more human form (as he is) than a super hero who performs magic miracles. Critics who look for fancy footwork and computer graphic made stunts will not find that sort of stuff in this movie. Just down to Earth, everyday, common, people as they go about their daily business and then run into Jesus and see wonders he performs without a lot of hoopla! I for one enjoy this sort of action for a religious film. It is very refreshing!
Striking Poses (1998)
marvelous TV Movie, keeps you wondering. Great finish.
For a TV movie this was absolutely marvelous! I see someone found it was confusing, and I can understand that if you have no more than a fifth grade education. It does drag you around a little bit running here and there changing how you figure the outcome of the movie is going to be. The ending is absolutely fantastic and takes you completely by surprise. Having a higher IQ than most people it is hard for me to truly enjoy most movies as I usually have it figured out at least halfway through what the end is going to be! This one here I had no idea what was going to happen right up to the end of the movie. Just when I thought everything was done, what a finish! Absolutely a movie that would keep you guessing, never a dull moment! I highly recommend this movie, as a matter of fact I'm going to to see if I can find it somewhere on a CD and purchase it so I can watch it anytime I feel like it! I would love to share with the rest of my family.
Marines, Let's Go (1961)
Not one of the better war movies
I rated this a 5 overall. The first 1/2 of the movie is a 2 and the last 1/2 a 5 so I settled on a 3 overall because of the fact I am IN it! I was an engineer aboard one of the PAPa boats when landing on the beach in one of the war scenes. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have rated the last half a 9 but probably a 6. If I had a choice of movies to be in this would not be one of them! The first of the movie is a very dull view of a bunch of drunken idiots who make fools of themselves in Japan. THE SECOND HALF DOES HAVE SOME DECENT war scenes when they hit the beach. The movie was filmed while the NAVY was doing maneuvers while in the P I Islands. They didn't have to pay for actors or the NAVY to film the maneuvers.

In Enemy Hands (2004)
Wonderful movie
I must agree with Sean and believe this is an excellent movie. I haven't seen the other version he mentioned, just the late version and it gives a look into what goes on in the minds of those at war as well as what they do. I recommend this movie to anyone who has a conscience and wonders what it is like in war. This movie is very realistic and authentic as to life aboard a sub. Having served four years in the US NAVY and serving in the Cuban crisis as well as Vietnam I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The acting is good and the movie has a good plot. If You have eve been in the service or just plain enjoy a good movie I believe that you will enjoy this movie. I don't normally write a review on movies and may never do it again for all that I know but this movie was good enough or me to do so.
Painted Angels (1998)
Can it get any worse?
When I was in the US Navy and aboard ship, I sat through some (what I thought) were really bad flicks. However compared to this movie they would have won academy awards! This has got to be the worst movie that has ever spoiled a piece of film. How in the world it ever got past the cutting room floor is beyond me! It is the most boring piece of work I have ever seen. Ever heard of watching paint dry? That would be exciting compared to this film. I have no idea how anyone could rate this insanity above a one! The only person who could sit through this, and rate it a 2 or above, would have to be Hellen Keller. Thank God I bought this at a garage sale for a dollar, I would just scream if I would have paid over that! Hopefully I can use a piece of this tape to repair a good one, or just erase it and start over!
Carbine Williams (1952)
A must see movie for history buffs of guns
This movie is a great movie for those who are into guns. Weather it be gun collecting, or just history. This movie portrays the actual real life story of how the winchester carbine was brought about. It is correct in it's history, and very interesting. Jimmy Stewart does an excellent job of portraying the feelings of a prisoner who may be wrongly convicted. It was never determined who actually killed the agent. This man made a rifle to help the American fighting man of the armed forces. Lighter, faster and more reliable than anything up to it's time. This was done inside a prison, with nothing but a file. When it was found out what he was doing, the warden of the prison eventually stands behind him and helps him in his efforts. If you are not interested in guns it is still a informative movie with a great human interest story!
