This save the last trilogy
23 December 2019
Episode VII was a bit disappointing but ok.

Episode VIII was just a catastrophy, the story was stupid (this chase after the alliance ship could have ended in a second with one or two first order's destroyer taking the ship in reverse) and the humor totally inappropriate (and not funny AT ALL).

Episode IX save'em from oblivion. it's the First quite original story, not obviously duplicating the scripts of previous SW movies. The twists are ok even though there are some contradictions inside the story...and it tries to make us forget the EPISODE VIII which was a disgrace.

Disappointment
14 April 2019
The effort to follow the book (more than in the movie) is real.

But the result is puzzling and not really interesting.

The cast is questionable (Turturro is not convincing has a clever/ambiguous religious man nor as Ruppert Everet as an inquisitor full of hatred).

There is a lack of ambiance especially a lack of darkness.

Too bad 'cause it could have been a great mini-series.

A succession of images is not a film
7 October 2018
First, the title is wrong: the king is absent of the movie and carricatured when shown. The link between the king and the people is not shown or analysed.

Second, even if the episodes or the short stories are well depicted and in a way interesting, it doesn't make a film. Where is a story? Where is something to care about? It's not even a documentary. It's not much...

Third, the « left wing » (populist?) vision of a people betrayed by the « elites » is boring.
