Nothing about 1899 is certain. The enjoyment of the story is the game of what is reality and what exists in the mind. One of the most original series to come to Netflix in ages. A mix of drama, fantasy, costume drama, deep mystery and science fiction, even the title is a question, 1899. Does the story take place in 1899? Or in the future or both? A woman tries to sort the uncertainty around her by clinging to the commonalities. Each character is introduced, past and present, or do they even exist? Is she in a drug induced fantasy or an unending, constantly changing reality? Only Season 2 will lead to the answers.

Good Beginning

My mind immediately filled with questions and their possible answers. Exactly what I want from a series. Thought provoking and interesting discussion followed our viewing of episode one. More fun when watched with others.
