Hoarders: Carol (2020)
Way to dump on your gold-digging, hoarding step mom
I know the show producers and participants have a narrative to follow, and under the guise of wanting to help someone with a mental problem, but wow, the accusations thrown at Carol of being this evil gold digger, and the relatives not knowing how to de-escalate and when to step away from over the top confrontation, is just way out of line. Prompting her to say something nasty about her relatives, and when she doesn't comply, calling her combative? This is the most one-sided hate-fest I've seen on this show. They're usually helpful on this show from what I've seen, dealing with mental illness, but if I had all this hatred being directed at me, I would retreat into resignation too. Towards the end, it seems as if everyone is the bad cop, and Mary comes out as the "good cop."
This woman has my sympathy with people like this surrounding her. Ok, so we've helped Carol with her problem, can we get some anger management therapy for the relatives now?
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
I deleted a star because it was too dark and stormy
And that is what added the tension for me. Thinking I was going to have to watch Jon Snow die again after he does the same stupid thing he did with Ramsay with the NK. Don't do what he wants you to do, Sansa told him. And he does just that. All the bad reviews have the same word in them - "expect." I expected...my expectations... and because it wasn't what was "expected" people don't like it. This show is not over yet. There's three more episodes. Surprising that the Night King was destroyed already, but intriguing. I am eager to see where the show goes from here. Maybe if it doesn't live up to my expectations, I'll be disappointed like all of these other disillusioned viewers. But going forward, I'm not at all "expecting" something to do with Cersei. Think about it. Ned Stark. Robb Stark - the King in the North. Expect the unexpected.
